To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we do not use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
The item was delivered as expected and well packed -> five stars on the delivery services. About the book itself, it is an amazing book with a lot of good ideas and my son was thrilled about it. Even me, I must confess that my eyes were sparkling considering all we could do... but that’s the tricky things, it will not be easy to get the parts required to do these constructions. We will have to buy from LEGO website and some other specialized sites which will come at a price. That’s the reason I gave it a 4 stars, not because of the quality of the book which is amazing but because it will be complex and pricey to find the parts.
This book was purchased for my 6 year old Lego and Harry Potter mad daughter. The book is really well executed and has given my daughter some great ideas for her own Lego builds. She also loved the sorting hat build included with the book.
The book really is good, the main issue is that although the book is great and has some awesome builds, we don't have the right bricks to build the ideas. If we want to recreate them we'll have to buy more bricks from Lego and spend more money. Hence 4 stars, but for the price this is a great gift idea for Lego and Harry Potter fans.
4.0 out of 5 starsPerfect for the Harry Potter Lego Fan

This Build Your Own Adventure from Lego and DK includes an 80 page hardback book, a poster, two bookmarks, a mini-figure (Harry Potter) and an exclusive 2-in-1 model. Everything comes in a strong card slipcase which contains the book and a box containing the other items.
The book introduces Harry Potter and the Hogwarts wizarding world, it also explains a little about how Lego models are designed and put together and the different types of bricks you can get. It broadly follows the story of The Philosopher's Stone and on every page are suggestions of how to build Lego models from most stages of the story - The Muggle World, Diagon Alley, Sorting Ceremony, Magical Adventures, Life at Hogwarts. The book also includes the instructions for the exclusive 2-in-1 model - which can either be a Sorting Hat Spinner or a Magical Fireplace. The quality in the book is there, it's beautifully produced as you'd expect from a DK publication.
Be aware with the exception of the 2-in-1 model which has complete instructions. All the other models are shown as inspiration for your own Lego journey, though the book is packed with hints and tips and for the more experienced modeller you'll be able to work out how to build the models from the pictures shown, it may take a little longer for a beginner.
The mini-figure included in the set is of Harry Potter, so this would be a good place to begin your Harry Potter Lego collection. The 2-in-1 model is a nice build to start off your Harry Potter world, especially after looking through the book and being inspired.
The bookmarks and poster feel slightly like filler items. The bookmarks feature Lego figures of Harry Potter and Dumbledore but they are blank card on the reverse side, a pity they didn't have a quote or maybe a picture of a different figure. The small poster is a Lego scene in the Great Hall at Hogwarts.
Not suitable for 0-3 year olds due to small parts, age on the box is 6+.
To build the models within the book you'll either need to have a large selection of Lego already or be prepared to buy it. If you're cynical this may seem more like a Lego catalogue, if you're not cynical and are a Lego and Harry Potter fan this is a book that is packed full of inspiration and will make you want to start building straight away.
Overall - Would make a lovely present for the Harry Potter Lego fan. Ideal for someone who already has lots of Lego to try out the various models or someone who's full of enthusiasm and just starting on their Lego adventure.
This is the Lego Harry Potter Adventure set - essentially a book and a 'kit' comprising a poster and small Lego model kit exclusive to DK (the publishers) where you can assemble a 'fireplace' set for Harry. It does come with a cool Harry POtter figure with the Gryfndor hat which is nice.
The book is all Lego Harry Potter related and great for fans of Lego and Harry Potter with lovely colourful pages of Lego figures and info on the Harry Potter world. Also comes with a poster.
only enough pieces to build 1 of 2 scenes at a time, but the book is filled with ideas of other Potter movie scenes to build, cupboard under stairs sliding wall into Diagon Alley wizard chess a moving staircase Gringotts bank Olivanders Wand Shop and a whole bunch more all of them very reminiscent of the about $10 tiny scenes that were offered at various holidays through the year 2 or 3 years ago
