Good book for slightly older kids, not for 2 year olds. My 2 year old likes the images, but doesn't have the patience to get through the entire book. The pages are quite thin, she also managed to tear a page while flipping even though she didn't mean to.
Even though I loved the artwork I previewed, I was a bit hesitant to buy this book because my daughter has a rare chromosome disorder that may immensely impact her life... to the point where she may not walk, talk, or be a functional, independent adult. I was afraid this book would focus on "the wonderful things you will be," as in particular careers, activities, or things that required a lot of ability. Much to my delight, this book instead focuses less on specific activities and more on being kind, loving, adventurous, creative--things my daughter could still be, despite any limitations and obstacles she may face. This book emphasizes being UNIQUE, not necessarily being "able." I really appreciate that. This book makes me cry because I don't know what will happen to my daughter (nobody does--because her condition is so rare), but I love her and she is wonderful, and this book lets her know that!
I bought this book for 2 babies who had been in foster care since a few months old, having been removed from a very neglected, violent home. They were going off to their new adoptive parents and I know I'll never see them again, so this seemed really appropriate. Beautiful words and fun, colourful pictures. Inspiring and full of hope for the future
That thoughtful gift for a friends child a christmas present, wanting something a bit special i was happy to pay a bit more after reading that this book was a New York best seller and all the other great reveiws i thought i had the perfect gift to give. I couldn't of been more wrong, this book isn't for the child its written for adults to enjoy and its their vision not the childs id even go as far to say its child unfriendly theres not one child through out the book that has a smile on their face even the pictures inside are so dated and pages so thin how this book got to be a New York best seller is laughable. There is no story to this book for children its a question book the clue is in the book title The Wonderful Things You Will Be .
This is a beautiful book. I bought it for my sister who is in her 40s and needed a gentle reminder of how amazing She is. She had me in awe as a baby and made me laugh everyday when she was growing up. Im overseas and this book helped me voice how incredible she still is.
Such a lovely, lovely book. Bought for my niece’s 1st birthday and can’t wait to read it with her and for her to enjoy it as she grows up. It made me quite emotional to read through it when it arrived as it really does explain how you know anything is possible for them. Can’t recommend enough and will definitely buy it again for family and close friends children in the future.
I only bought this book because of the previous reviews. It’s an ok book, but definitely not worth the money. It’s too expensive for what it is. Pages are thin so very easy to torn off by a curious toddler. Got some cute rimes but nothing that will really make you cry - unless you’re still in the hormonal stage after having the baby. Is not was I expect and i am one very sentimental and easily 😭 mama.
I buy my kids book with special messages like this every year for their birthday and I was unimpressed with this one. The story is ok but a bit flat, as are the illustrations. I could recommend at least 5 similar books that are better.
