To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we do not use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Bought this for a 5 year old who is familiar with Lego. We enjoyed building the gadgets together. It wasn't something that he could handle alone, unlike the usual Lego models, but that was expected as the recommended age is 8 and above. I think a 6 or 7 year old would be able to do much of this unaccompanied.
The bricks that come with this set are sufficient to build each creation listed in the book that comes with it. My little one had a great time creating various gadgets like the claw and the robo boxer, whose name is brick basher. He wanted me to give a 5 star review because he is having tons of fun with these.
(This set is very nice compared to the marketing gimmick "What will you build" LEGO sets sold at Costco.)
Bought this for my son and kept him entertain for hours. He was always wanting to try and the next. Only thing I wish you could have more legos with the set so you don’t always have to break down each one to build the next.
Used for projects for Levers & Wheels Unit in Grade 4 Science. Was a fun way for my kid to get actively involved with levers, wheels, and counting gear ratios. Will also be using other materials, but this was a worthwhile book to purchase as it's a self-contained kit. Easy for a 9 year old to do the activities independently.
It’s nice concept... rather than just building model this is more appealing; kids have sense of achievement by making these small gadgets. My 6 year old... liked it!! Is actually a nice thing for parents and kids to bond over.
A great set to get into the next level of Lego construction using gears and mechanics. Loved the layout and design of the instructions. This is the kind of toy that opens the mind up to endless opportunities rather than just one set of use. Very pleased!
