Having studied Economics at A Level a few years ago, I've always had an interest in the Economy and how it works. However over the past few years work commitments have meant I've not kept up with my reading other than what's in the news. Therefore I decided to buy this book to refresh my knowledge and I find it perfect for explaining both macro and micro principles in a short and distinct way. Admittedly the book doesn't go in to mass amounts of detail, but I don't think it's meant to do so and so I don't think it can be marked down for that. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase and love dipping back into this book to keep my knowledge refreshed and up to date.
I am very happy with this book, if you enjoy learning about economics this is a book you would love it. There is a lot of explanations, everyone simple, easy to understand, I have read some points like the explanation of inflation in other books and in internet, and the explanation in this book is the best by far, what I like so much is that in the explanations of this books never you found useless sentences, every sentence helps to understand the point. HIGH RATE.
Bought this book as gift for a teenager who likes Economics. She is very happy and reads it with great interest. Finds the book interesting as it is easy to read and has illustrations related to the relevant topics.
Excellent book that explains the concept of economics simple enough for the everyday person to digest, but informative and detailed to give the reader an in-depth look into the subject. In fact, by studying the book i've come to realise it's pointless highlighting the informative/important parts because if I was to do so, i'd turn the whole thing into a colouring book! Not sure if you'll find a better book to start with than this one. 5/5 stars for me.
This is the best introductory book I've found for a general review of economics. Very well laid out and quality feel, presents topics chronologically and gives the reader a palpable sense of learning as the pages go by. Keeps equations to a minimum but does not dumb down. So much better than the dummies book.
This book is great. It explains economics in an enjoyable way in short sections, so you don't need to read it in order. The book gives a chronological history that shows how economics has grown as a subject over the years and the theories that have shaped it.
This book is broken up really nicely into various sections, based on time / era - each section has lots of 2-page spreads that talk about specific economic ideas and their originators. It's handy to use as a reference book, or you can just plough through from start to finish - all good.
