To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we do not use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
This is another of DK's heavily illustrated books, and it's yet another winner. The book presents timelines for many things (more than I thought would be possible!) but they are all relevant and interesting. Each subject shows its timeline and comments about major milestones, with lots of pictures and quotes. It's not necessarily a deep discussion of anything, but there's enough detail here to cover the highlights and make the flipping of page to page interesting. The subjects are varied, and most age groups and education levels will find something good here. I like the book enough to buy a copy for a friend who glanced at the copy on my coffee table, and ended up flipping through for half an hour totally intrigued. That's the kind of book I like to recommend!
A DK book , as usual beautifully illustrated. This was sent to my 13 yr old grandson as a Christmas present so I did not actually see it . I was told it was a great hit and it even made his 17 yr old sister jealous !
This is a handsome and informative book! I bought it for my grandson who loves history and it delivered! The timeline gives a better perspective of the unfolding of important historical events. Great illustrations and descriptions. This is a keeper!
The only blatantly incorrect information in the book is the timeline of Judaism. It was established after the 6th century b.c.e, NOT in 2000 b.c.e. Ancient Israelite religion starts to differentiate from Caananite religion around the 12th century b.c.e. but it was a politheistic religion.
