When I started keto, my biggest craving was bread. I searched high and low for recipes that had similar texture and flavour to bread. So glad I stumbled across this book. I use it every day. The focaccia is my family’s favourite!
the book is a little miss leading. I bought this for the bread recipes but you also get recipes for whole meals. My guess is it’s hard to sell a book with only twenty pages in it so they added a whole bunch of filler.
A big thank you to the Authors for taking the time, love and dedication to detail each bread recipe to the most fundamental detail. I have so far tried 3 bread recipes; the Pizza Base, Focaccia Bread and the White fluffy whey protein bread. All three turned out yummy. Looking forward to trying more over the coming weeks. Great recipes, great catagories. Additional recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert to combine the bread base recipes with so you actually get a lot for your money. Nice photos as well. American measurements as expected but there is a conversion table at the back which is very handy. This book certainly exceeded my expectations.
I started Keto early December, but decided to mix it with the Mediterranean diet as I wanted to focus on lower, quality carbs in my diet but not so restrictive I'd have to worry about some of the negative affects of Keto dieting - especially for older women. I find the two complement each other quite well - I follow the Keto bread / baking / dessert recipes mostly and Mediterranean for everything else. This is a combination I can easily maintain and hardly ever want to stray as it is very satisfying, even in the sweet departments. Anyway, this book is perfect. There is probably only 2 recipes I wouldn't normally make, but really only because I never had them before. The variety of recipes are those we all know just Ketofied. The Tips, Keto Baking Basics, explanation of alternative ingredients used, etc. is a great beginning to this book for people. I love the Nutrition facts broken down per serving after every recipe. It helps you work with your Macros for the day. I especially love that every 3rd or so recipe has a photograph - good number of photos in this book. I love that, photos make a recipe / cook book. I even appreciate the quality of the paper in this book - like smooth photo paper. I would not hesitate to purchase more recipe books written by Faith / Lara.
We’ve been Keto for years...and still miss “bread & bread like” stuff. This book has recipes for everything you miss: Bagels English muffins Sandwich breads I love every recipe I’ve tried and have made almost half of them.
