It's nice, but it's a bit long. It covers events that might happen over the course of a year in preschool, which was a bit confusing for my son. I liked other books better as a prep for starting preschool that focused on a single day: drop off nerves, playing, nap, pickup etc.
I bought this book to get my three year old acclimated to the idea of going to preschool and… wow. I really wish I hadn’t. The plot is confusing at best. Rather than outline what the first day of preschool might be like, it goes through the entire year. In my opinion, it’s much too complicated for a three year old to grasp, and if I may offer my opinion, annoying af for a parent to read. Pass on this one.
I bought this for my daughter starting preschool. She absolutely loved it!! I would read it to her, and then she would “read” it back to me. Even a few months into school and she still ask me to read this book to her!! Such a cute book!!!
This book is just OK. I bought it to help my son who was struggling with his transition into preschool. I wish I would've listened to some of the other reviews. As others have mentioned, it takes you through a whole year of school and talks about very specific things that your kid probably won't even experience. There's also a page about hitting a punching bag when the kid is angry, which I always just skip over since my son's school has no such thing and I don't want him to learn to hit things when he is mad. I also change the wording on the first few pages about drop off because the parent goes into the school and promises to stay for awhile. Unfortunately, during COVID, this really doesn't translate either, since parents are not allowed inside our school and the kids are dropped off/picked up at the door. A few of the pages are good, like the one about hand washing, but overall I wouldn't really recommend this book.
This is not a story, each page has a different topic related to preschool that it covers (eg washing hands, art, lunchtime). This book also arrived bent and damaged. The poems and photos are nice, but I wouldn’t purchase it again or for a friend.
