To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we do not use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Working Backwards is a must read for any founder, leader, or manager. It offers a practical toolkit to build a customer-centric organisation and a culture of innovation. The authors do an excellent job demystifying Amazon’s repeatable and scalable approach to building businesses that are category kings and have allowed Amazon to become the behemoth it is today. Irrespective of the industry you operate in, or whether you are part of a small or large company, this book offers pragmatic lessons to help you thrive and make a lasting impact.
I rose through the ranks in an eCommerce company only to notice we have 0 idea on how to grow it. The simple yet often neglected perspectives on input vs output metrics, on hiring process, on new initiatives are much needed. The book touches only the surface but is highly beneficial to me. I wish there are more examples to read about to understand more of the Amazonians way
This book was gifted to me over a holiday break and I didn't realise how much of an impact it would have on me since then. I work in a fast-growing start-up and can identify with the pains early Amazonians encountered. This book has helped me to share the principles expounded in the book and put them into practice. I love Colin and Bill's approach of showing the practicability of their ideas and how they were seeded by real pains and even failures. It's humbling and yet inspiring, so I would recommend this to any sole contributor or manager who wants to improve their effectiveness at work and is brave enough to share it.
