I have mixed feelings about this story. I love many parts and the characters but I also can’t get over certain scenes or acts. It’s beautiful and powerful as we’re used to from the author and it’s angsty and makes you think a lot of what would you do in those moments, the decisions that you’ve made would be the same? The feelings?
Regretting you ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - @colleenhoover has not let us down (does she ever)💜 I could not put this book down I got though it so quickly, which I hate when im loving a book I just want to continue reading. Regretting you is in two points of view, Morgan and Clara who are mother and daughter and due to circumstances have a strained relationship, you get to see both romances and I honestly thought I would probably prefer one and would just want to read that one point on view more, but I was wrong! Colleen Hoover is such a versatile author so you never quiet no what your going to get especially now after verity- I’m always excited for new releases and have loved every book. Regretting you has sweetness, sadness and a pinch of angst it’s about family, grief and betrayal and first loves. I couldn’t recommend regretting you (or any of her books) more if you haven’t read regretting you (or any of Colleen’s books) that needs to change 💜
Well, that hasn’t happened in a while. I sat down to begin reading this book earlier today. And now it’s much later, the book is finished, and I have tears streaming down my face. QOTD: When was the last time you read a book in one sitting? This was my first book by Colleen Hoover (I know, I know, behind the curve as always…) but it won’t be my last. Morgan and her angsty teenage daughter Clara are left bereft when Morgan’s husband/Clara’s father is killed in an RTA. Also killed in the car crash was Morgan’s sister, who left behind an infant son and Jonah, her fiancée. But there was more to the crash than meets the eye. And there’s more to Morgan and Jonah than either of them is willing to admit. Plus, Clara blames herself for the accident, so begins to act out as she grieves and uses her new-found boyfriend, Miller (whom her father disliked), as ammunition. Okay, so the plot direction is fairly apparent from the start, but I don’t mind knowing where I’m going if the journey is entertaining enough. And this one was. The writing is accomplished, the characters are well developed, and are all basically good people (which I found refreshing – so many books seem to be populated by nasty, spiteful people), and the plot has enough going on to keep tugging the reader from page to page. ‘Just one more chapter’ turned into devouring the whole book in one sitting – and I think that says it all. As I write this review, I keep stroking the book’s cover. Not in a weird way, I promise, more in a ‘I’m not ready to put you down yet’ way. I might just need to take a minute, if that’s okay…
I am a MASSIVE Colleen Hoover fan and have been reading her books religiously for years. Colleen has always had a wonderful way of transporting you into her characters world and you can almost live through them and feel their emotions. I find her books incredibly easy to read, and this book was no exception. I recently took this book on holiday with me and i found I couldn’t wait to get back to it and read more of the story much to my partners annoyance! It made me smile and feel warm inside and I think in a world where things can be so bleak and sad a book like this can be extremely up lifting. It’s not all rainbows and butterflies and there’s lots of sadness in the mix but weather that storm and you’ll find yourself feeling warm and toasty again in no time. The characters are lovable and relatable and there’s twists and turns you may see coming or may completely blindside you, you’ll only know if you purchase, which you should! I’m envious of anyone who has just discovered Colleen Hoover because you get to enjoy all of her books and binge them, whereas I’m waiting for the next one... and the next one.. and the one after that! Enjoy!
Morgan Grant is determined to prevent her daughter Clara from making the same mistakes she did as a teenager. Morgan’s dreams were put on hold after she got pregnant at seventeen and married Chris her husband so young. Their lives are turned upside when Chris loses his life tragically and under questionable circumstances. The relationship between Morgan and Clara is further strained when secrets and misunderstandings present as they both deal with loss, heartache and conflicted love.
I don’t want to give too much away but this book is more than just a story about a mother-daughter dysfunctional relationship. It combines grief and heart ache with hope and redemption ❤️ Colleen Hoover can do no wrong! This is a poignant, gripping read! 😍 Highly recommend if you’re looking for a heartfelt story with characters you’ll still be thinking of long after the book ends.
Collen knows really how to break our hearts and then make it all better. Read this before release date and couldn't be more blessed. It was a very personal book for me which made me learn a lot about grief since I lost my dad earlier this year. This book is a must read!
Firstly I want to just start of by saying I frikking love CoHo, her writing and stories are just stunningly beautiful, however this book in particular even though again the writing style is phenomenal, I just could not connect with the story and it just didn't do anything for me. There where times I really wanted to DNF this book but because it's Colleen I kept pushing myself to finish it off. It's safe to say this is my least favourite !!
This was one of the best books I’ve read in a long time. I bought this book during quarantine and hoped it would be a great time passer. However, I couldn’t put it down, ended up reading it within a day. I would highly recommend anyone to read this book, a treat story and easy to read which just makes you laugh and smile all the way through. Colleen Hoover is a fantastic author!
Brought this as part of a buddy read and absolutely loved it! This has become my favourite book by this author. Beautifully written story based around the complex relationship of mother and teenage daughter with very likable and relatable characters. Highly recommended!
