To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we do not use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Like many other reviewers, I too have been following Carolyn's blog for a few years now and was so excited to see that she had a baking book out! True to its name, this book is a must read for every keto baker, especially since she devoted the first three chapters to keto baking essentials, equipment, and ingredients, which not many books do. Don't get me wrong, I love the recipes in the book, but I think I enjoyed the first three chapters even more, as I think I have learned so much from them! I can't wait to get started with the recipes from her book (I have made many from her blog, of which most have been successful), I'm just torn for choice as to where to begin :) Thank you for a wonderful book, Carolyn, I'm so happy I bought this.
I do, however, have just a few comments/suggestions: 1. Page 47 states that unsweetened chocolate is not available in the UK, but for several years now I have been buying Montezuma's 100% (available in Montezuma's shops or even some grocery stores like The Co-operative), Willie's Cacao (available online on their website or Amazon UK), Hotel Chocolat (in their shops and online on their website), Callebaut (available on Amazon UK), and several other wonderful (if a bit expensive) brands from Cocoa Runners online without any problems and used them in cooking (and to snack on!) They are all marvellous! Even Lindt 99% chocolate is available in several grocery stores like Waitrose and Sainsbury's. So perhaps the next edition of this book can correct this entry or include this information?
2. I was relieved to see measurements in weights for some important ingredients, and the metric converter at the end, but as Carolyn has a worldwide audience and the book is sold in many countries, perhaps future editions could have measurements in weights in both imperial and metric for all ingredients in the recipes? I know that is a lot of work, but I think it would add huge value to the book. Also, cup sizes are not necessarily the same in all countries so weight measurements play an important role where ingredient accuracy is crucial. I use weight measures for all my cooking and baking and will convert these recipes to metric weights for my own use as and when I make each recipe, so this is of course just a suggestion... I love this book regardless and highly recommend it to any enthusiastic keto baker :)
I was a GOOD baker before I needed to go low carb. It was the thing that everyone knew me for. I was the girl who always fed people and I got such a kick out of people eating and loving my creations. Just tried the chiffon cake and it is suuuuuperrr delicious!! I'm on keto diet for months now and was dying for a good cake recipe without tasting the eggs. I put 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract instead of the 0.5 almond extract and it came out really delicious. Cant wait to try more recipes.
Fantastic book. I own many cookbooks and this one stands out because you can tell that every recipe has been tried and tested by the writer Every single recipe I used works. Full of helpful tips and additional information. I have attached pictures of rhubarb skillet cake and flathead dough I used to make pasties.
I pre-ordered this book and couldn't wait for it to come. I've been following Carolyn's blog for a long time and, unlike many others, her recipes always worked out. This book is thoroughly researched, beautifully presented, and everything is explained in detail. I trust Carolyn's advice not least because a lot of her experiences ring a bell! I was delighted to see such a wide range of recipes, too! The instructions are clearly laid out and the tips incredibly useful.

I want thank Carolyn for her amazing books! I bought Everyday kitchen and Desserts. Both are masterpieces, while being down to earth at the same time. And before these books I had at least 30 other keto books from various authors, no one clicked/worked really for me But these ones!!! Inspiring and simple. Overwhelming, in a good way that you want to try all of her recipes at once, and regret you have only one oven😊

I am delighted with this book. I was expecting a much smaller, thinner book for the price - this is a real tome with beautiful pictures, and fantastic recipes. It’s super-high quality, as I would expect from Carolyn. Highly recommended!!
Lovely typesetting layout and colour pictures addresses the North American market with cup measures and names of products difficult to identify and source in the UK. The intro is good and helpful if you’re going down this low carb route but too much emphasis on sweet desserts cakes biscuits which are high fat and should be avoided if you have cholesterol and high blood pressure.
These are truly well tried and tested recipes. In a different league to what you'll download from keto websites. Just made dairy, wheat and sugar-free lemon drizzle cake and I truly wouldn't swap it for the conventional version.
I’m usually too lazy to write reviews about purchases, but I bought this book after reading other people’s reviews and feel it only fair to participate. The reviews were so good that I expected to be a little disappointed, but absolutely not. The book is nicely organised, incredibly informative and has some useful and original sections - like an index at the back with small photographs of recipes that can then be found very easily. Great idea. I sat and read it from cover to cover in one go. Everything I wanted to know was addressed. Very impressed. If you are new to keto baking this is an absolute bible.
