My Displate metal poster's glue for the magnet to wall sticker recently lost its stickiness and so the poster kept falling off. Read online that Command strips help hold the metal posters back up so I tried 2 strips - sure enough they work great!
Lived in rented accommodation where the landlord did not allow any picture hooks..... We were sick of the bare walls, so opted for these command strips. Held up a large frame on the wall for over 2 years with no problems. When we came to move the strips came off the wall effortlessly and there was no damage. Now in our new home, I'm very tempted to buy some more to keep walls damage free.
Got these to hang some canvases and they worked amazingly. I put them on the canvas first then used a spirit level and a measuring tape to get the correct alignment and just pushed it onto the wall. It stuck straight away and I only used 1 hanger per canvas (a4 sized). My mother in law tried them to put a mirror in her bathroom and it fell off but i think that's because she tried to do it on a wet wall. My mum tried them on her wall with a normal photo frame and it didn't stick but she had embossed wall paper so I think you need to be careful which type of wall you use it on.
Brilliant no mess. I find it easier to stick 2together then stick on back of picture. Then mark 2 dots on wall at the same height remove the cover off the strips line up frame to the dots so it’s level then press against wall. Found it easier than the way it says to do it on the instructions. Used loads of these not had one unstick yet. Worth the money for less hassle. Looks neater too.
Thses are really useful and a very clever idea. My youngest son introduced me to these strips. He has used them for large canvas prints framed photographs and large pictures that we have bought him over the last couple of years and he swears by them. He has re positioned them and taken them down completely during his house move. Couldn't work any better. We have fixed a printed plaque and a box picture to a wall and they have worked perfectly. So simple to use. Would happily recommend everyone to buy these for their pictures.
I must admit I have never seen these before and bought some out of curiosity after reading many positive reviews. On the face of it they looked very much like Velcro strips but actually they have lots of little plastic pins with heads arranged in such a way that they lock into each other when pressed together. As a result you only get one type of strip in the packet and not a pair like hook and loop/Vecro. They also have a bendy foam strip on one end that's used to easily pull the strips apart from each other.
They actually don't feel overly sticky/tacky but this means that the 'drag' potential is much lower with these strips and their surface area strength is going to be quite high, so, they are more likely to stay where you put them. Apparently they can be removed from paint without causing any damage. I'm inclined to believe this but haven't left any of the them on a painted surface for long enough to verify these claims.
They are available in various sizes and also available in black which wasn't obvious when I purchased my first pack. You so get several more strips in the Medium size strips pack (20x) compared to only 8 in the Large size strips pack. There difference in size between the strips themselves is not that significant though.
I also managed to use these to attach a Leap Motion controller to a HTC Vive Pro and was able to remove the strips without leaving any tacky residue on either. Definitely not what these strips are designed for but proves they have other potential uses outside of mounting pictures to walls!
Pros: - Easy to use - Very strong - Beats drilling holes - Available in different colours and sizes
Great for hanging pictures, mirrors and other items without marking the walls- have used these for all of my pictures and mirrors etc recently and love them. Have also taken several pictures off the walls that had been up for between 6 months and a year and they all came off without marking the walls. Don't try to take off straight after putting up though otherwise they may take off the top layer of paint from the walls - they
for anyone that lives in rented accommodation these things are an absolute lifesaver. You can hang pictures, paintings, mirrors, even light shelves or coat hooks with this stuff. I've mounted electronics to the wall with it, used it to repair blinds and curtain rails, all sorts. So you attach a strip to the wall and a strip to whatever you want to stick to the wall, and it acts like velcro, only both sides are the hard side, you don't get a fuffy side. It makes a really solid connection and they say it can hold up to 2kg per strip. For a heavy shelf you can just add 4-5 strips and you're golden. Once you have the strips on your picture or whatever you can take it off and stick it back on, or stick it back on somewhere else. When you want to remove the strips you pull the tab at the bottom and it comes off without damaging any paint or wallpaper. You do ruin the strip by peeling it off, but you can keep the one stuck to your painting or whatever. Just an extremely handy product.
