I like dark and bitter, this is close to my favorite French roast. However my other half says it tastes burnt. So different taste bud different perception. Will check out this brand's other flavors but keep this one in my future purchase list.
Slightly burnt taste, but not bad value for money. Just wish it had a fresher aroma than what I perceive as something similar to Starnuckd pikes peak. It tastes and smells better when mixed 50% w Lavazza red bag in the grinder.
Well, I’ve been buying this beautiful dark roasted coffee for well over a year or so at a cost of just under £10. I’ve gone onto Amazon yesterday to order another bag and to my absolute dismay the same bag of coffee beans has gone up in price another £5. What’s going on in the world, I’m so very angry over this as even though it isn’t a full 1kg bag I dismissed that because it’s a beautiful strong cuppa coffee, one that coffee shops on the high street just can’t make the same. Where do these people get their prices from. I loved this coffee and even used to buy my son a bag every couple of months for his bean to cup machine. I won’t be buying anymore at the prices set today, I’ll be on the hunt for another bag of coffee beans for my sage barista x
purchased this coffee previously and it was always excellent. This shipment was off - not certain if it was the beans or the roasting process. The coffee tasted flat and flavorless and had an unpleasant aroma when I opened the bag. The seller was kind enough to send a replacement unfortunately the replacement was much like the one it was replacing even though it had a different roasting date. Going back to my Peet's coffee for a while - consistently flavorful and good quality coffees. I may purchase San Francisco Bay coffee again in the future as previous orders were delicious but for now will take a break.
The only French Roast we drink. It doesn't have a chemical aftertaste as do most commercially produced coffees. I like the sharp bite of a strong cup and my hubby would never drink my coffee, said it was strong and nasty.
Since I don't have to get a Costco Acct to buy my Coffee to die for choice, Jim now grinds and also makes us coffee every morning. We use approximately 2# per month, and Jim has a grinder for making our daily coffee.
So excited I don't have to drive fifty miles to go to Costco, and it comes right to our local P Office since we do not have actual mail delivery in our rural County.
Another great product that I was sure I wouldn't ever get to enjoy again.
The beans are probably the darkest I've ever seen on the market and I can understand why some might like the smokiness but it tends to be on the bitter side when I pull a shot of it, so I always add vanilla or hazelnut syrup. Approach with caution with these beans because I feel that not everyone will like it. Also I doubt the beans are fresh because there are no roast dates on the packaging.
I just stopped drinking caffeine from cold brew. It's an attempt to help migraines. The cold brew has less tannins than regular coffee. I have been making my own and indulging in Starbucks for several years. So, I looked around and come to find that decaf beans are not easy to locate! Hmm. Well, luckily I did find them on Amazon. I made my cold brew. People said decaf is not good. It is good enough. Tastes like a diluted cold brew. I am happy.
