1.0 out of 5 stars Counterfeit
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 July 2018
Colour: BlackVerified Purchase
The item I got delivered was counterfeit. Very well replicated, but once I tried them and realized the sound wasn't anywhere near as detailed, having another pair purchased previously from a reputable distributor I could compare and notice many little details.
Box looked different, cheaper. The 4 replaceable earbuds that normally are fixed and facing up were just loose and all over the place. It says at the back that the impedance is 20 Ohms while it should be 17.
The pouch's material feels way cheaper than the other one I have and the shape is a bit wonky.
Leaflets normally come folded tidily with a clear elastic band, unlike these. The earphones themselves were missing holes on half the surface.
There were 4 spare earbuds instead of 6, and they came in a much cheaper envelope. The cleaning tool has scraps of plastic on and it's very different in size.
There is no CE symbol at the bottom either, instead there's a CC I've never seen before.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy this product, it is definitely counterfeit!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 September 2018
Colour: BlackVerified Purchase
I ordered these earphones and I received the same product that the other customers are complaining about. I compared them to multiple different pairs of real Shure SE215s that other members of my band have and they are not the same. There are a few differences that make it apparent that they are counterfeit, the most noticeable is the fact that the sound quality is terrible, they sound like a £5 pair of earphones from home bargains! There are some aesthetic differences also, for example, the case that they come in is a low-quality material and also a different shape to the real headphone case, it's supposed to be a perfect oval shape but the counterfeit case is oblong. Another difference is that the box that it comes in says that the impedance is 20 ohms when it should say 17. When you take the sleeves off the earpiece the plastic is supposed to be completely smooth as to not damage the foam/soft flex covers but on the counterfeit ones, the plastic is rough and jagged. The earpieces rattle which shows that the insides aren't securely fixed in place. Also, the foam/soft flex covers are different from the real ones and the cleaning tool that you get is different, it's supposed to be quite small but the counterfeit one is bigger.

I would recommend purchasing from the official Shure website because the hassle of returning the counterfeit product and then purchasing another pair from Shure's website wasn't worth the £10 I should have saved purchasing from here. Don't get mugged off!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for drummers
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 February 2018
Colour: BlackVerified Purchase
I've had these for four months now, use them every day and highly recommend them. I use them to monitor a mic'd up acoustic drum kit in my drum practice room and so I need the phones to sound good but also need them to block out as much of the ambient sound of the acoustic drums so I can play for long periods at comfortable volumes and they do the job brilliantly. They are also more comfortable than over-the-ear phones and stay in my ears without the need for re-adjustment. (I use the supplied memory foam earbuds).

Removing the earbuds for cleaning is a little tricky as they are a firm fit but once you've done it once and know that a little force is needed to remove them, it's a simple job. They seem robust and very well made.

For the purpose I'm using them for, they're excellent. Happy customer!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Entry level but exceptionally good
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 31 December 2014
Colour: BlackVerified Purchase
For the money, you have no right to expect such good earphones. A really balanced sound that never gets tiring and has plenty of detail. Mids are clear and always a pleasure; mid- and mid-low bass are present and correct, if not exceptionally clear; highs are clear but not bright. The only weakness is an almost total lack of sub bass and an occasional lack of deep, thumping bass - but then, you get what you pay for, and the pay-off for that lack of fat, rounded deep bass is mid-range clarity and detail that's hard to beat for the money. Serious bass-heads look elsewhere maybe, but I listen to a lot of dub and electronic dance and it's only occasionally that I crave something more beefy than these; at first it bothered me, I'll admit, but then I came to appreciate the pay-off.
Aside from the sound, the build quality is excellent: I've had mine for nearly two years and put them through some serious use: mountain biking (including many a spill), commuting in foul weather, and long hours on train journeys. They still look and sound as good as new - no cable wear (I think they've used some sort of synthesised alligator-hide), and even the original foam tips are still pristine.
A real strength - and this applies across the Shure IEM range, as they all use the same design - is that these things will stay put, thanks to the over-the-ear design, meaning you're not having to constantly push them back into position when the cable catches on your collar or your jacket. It's a First World Problem, I know, but it's one that drives me mad with other in-ears.
Some reviewers quibble about the comfort and the fit, but I've never had an issue. It's just a question of finding the right buds (and they come with plenty to choose from); for my fairly small lug-holes, the medium-sized foam tips are snug, tight but not uncomfortable, and give great isolation. I can see that some specs-wearers might take exception to the over-the-ear cable design (and that's the only way they can be worn), but I wear thin-framed specs sometimes and I don't have a problem with them.
I've not tried the SE3-series or the SE4-series, but I have tried the SE535s - over three times the price of these, and not at all worth the extra money. They sound slightly better, but not *that* much better.
Again, as stated by other reviewers - and this goes for all in-ears - if you don't select the right buds, you won't get the best out of these. Be patient: burn the phones in for at least 24 hours before you judge them, and play around with the buds until you find the ones that fit best. Tip: with the foam buds, pinch them in before you put them in your ears, then let them expand for 10-20 seconds until they fill the outer ear canal and make a seal. You'll know when you've got it right, as they'll block out most of the ambient noise. If they get uncomfortable after a while, try a smaller size bud.

Sound quality: 4 stars (but 5 for the price you pay!)
Comfort and fit: 5 stars
Build quality: 6 stars :)

5.0 out of 5 stars My first pair of Shure earphones.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 August 2017
Colour: BlackVerified Purchase
I Love these earphones! Pairing these earphones with the "[Latest Version] Mpow Bluetooth 4.1 Transmitter and Receiver 2 in 1", FiiO 60cm Standard Headphone cable with MMCX connectors, some double sided sticky tape & a small clip I now have bluetooth earphones! (all found here on Amazon).

I adore the sound signature which is dark/warm (slight bass bump and rolled off treble) which is just perfect to my taste - I hate sound signatures which become sibilant, e.g. Sennheiser PXC 550 headphones (which I'm effectively replacing with this setup) really fatigue my ears with certain songs like Aruna - Save The Day Myon & Shane 54 Summer Of Love Remix and have a V shape which does not agree with my ears in particular.

These are the kind of earphones that make me want to sit here and just listen to music all day and never get tired of it. Save The Day is so enjoyable to listen to for me now.

The reason I bought these was to replace the Noise Cancelling bluetooth headphones mentioned above and also because I wanted some in-ear monitors for exercising.

Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars What can I say. I’m delighted. Amazing fit
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 December 2015

What can I say. I’m delighted. First, it was effectively delivered after 1 day so I ordered them on Thursday and got them Friday morning. I already knew a very old model of Shure which sounded great and I tested the 535 model that my husband has and I really started to think maybe it was time to invest on something good. The SE215 is a great quality/price product. As I have tragus piercings, I was never able to find any earphones to fully fit my ears as all of them tended to fall with any movement, which is really annoying. Now, with the SE215…they stay comfortably in my ears, the outside sound is really fully isolated, as if the world could end and you’d be completely unaware. The sound quality is amazing, they’re comfortable like any other dozens of models I tried, they don’t hurt, they adjust perfectly so, I couldn’t be happier with my purchase

2.0 out of 5 stars Tight & Tinny
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 February 2021

They have a very tight and tinny signature that exerts a sort of pressure on my ears that feels as though I'm on a plane that is ascending. For the price, I was disappointed when I know I could have spent less for something better. The one good thing is that the audio is quite clear but not as clear as they should be. I own a pair of urBeats3 that sound better in every way that you can acquire for nearly half the price with cleaner audio and less distortion.

If I had to recommend a different pair within the same price range of the SE215, I would likely go with Sennheiser's IE 40 Pro.

1.0 out of 5 stars Caveat emptor
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 August 2018
Colour: BlackVerified Purchase
Having used Shure ear buds for the past 5 years I purchased these because I was entirely happy with my previous Shure products, I liked the sound, the fit and the quality. I was surprised to find the sound quality on these to be tinny and far worse than the free ear buds I got with my phone and completely unlike any Shure product I've used in the past. The build quality and packaging also did not meet my expectations and i immediately suspected that the product was counterfeit. A quick internet search confirmed my suspicions. You would be better off buying a £5 set from the local supermarket than these. This is no reflection on Shure - but these are not manufactured by Shure. I received the same headphones as Danielle who has posted pictures for those who want to check whether their product is real. I advice that anyone looking at these read the reviews and check who is actually supplying the product before purchasing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shure SE215 Dynamic Microdriver Noise isolating earphones
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 December 2015

Got this today after ordering it off amazinf just a day ago. Impressed with the delivery finesse to say the least.

Quality: First impressions here, in terms of sound quality, which was my primary motivation towards buying a rather expensive headphones, I have to say, am really imprseed. I am comming from using an RHA headphones, which was good too but I literally hated the fabric cord which made noise if it rubbed against something. Sorry to go on a tangent but, yeha. Really impressed with the sound quality. I have seen listining to some Metalcore (at first I thought, the high ends were weak sounding, but I am guessing it's just how this gerne on music is mixed). Also sited to some Folk (Mumford and Sons - Bable, where the bass and treble notes were well blanced). Currently listening to Boston - Amanda, the vocals are really clear and natural sounding.

Build - well built and easy to configure to your ear canal. I use the form paddinf earbuds. However it also comes with some rubber earbuds as well and a earbud cleaning tool, which I think is quite a nice thought.

There you go! I'll get back later if I fing any fault over the months. If not, its all good in the hood :)
