I am sure the product is good with it's limited protection, However I bought the upper level product for the added protection. The product was as advertised, I just need more protection since I do a lot of work on my computer and needed more security than this software provided. I have used it for my husband's laptop, which is not used as much. Norton has excellent virus protection software and that's all I use. If you need a lot of security, I would go for the best product, since your information will be vulnerable to hackers.

Norton has always been a trusted product in keeping my equipment free from nasty communicable disease.
But when the harddraive went a a new one put in, I fought with Norton, via my on-line account, to allow me to finish using the product I had already bought. Same computer. Nothing changed but the hard drive. My account showed clearly that I had paid for a certain product, yet I lost valuable months in fighting with them.
My computer is now unprotected (foolishly) and I'm not sure I would use Norton again.
Great product. Failures in support!

Purchased for a 3-user application - but when I was ready to renew I chose a different vendor. Norton still seems to be less able to protect agains malware than other products, partially because they are the target to avoid detection with.
