***LMAO*** Day after I did this review, I got an email saying I got my refund.
I purchased on Amizon, and I chose the wrong one, it was not the anti-virus that I wanted its the Nortons Security that I need. I have since purchased the security from the same company, they did not want to do an exchange. Easier for their records they say, ya easier to not give me a refund.
They are liers, I sent pkg back and never got a refund. Didnt think I needed a tracking number with that 'special number' they gave me to be written on the outside of package, "012712-1443AM" and special instructions below. They keep telling me they didnt recieve it. I was told by post office that they would recieve it on Thursday 2/2/12, I mailed it out on Monday 1/30/12. That special number is attached to the order #104-8740038-9597855, there should be no reason they didnt recieve it.

This is what I paid Norton Antivirus 2012 - 1 User 3 PC Sold by: Platinum Micro, Inc. Condition: new Quantity: 1 $25.95 each Item subtotal: $25.95
Having three computers this was a no brainer compared to the $44 ea for online renewal. BEWARE however that if you currently have Norton with different expiration dates for your computers you cannot update each one as they expire and get the full year from that date. The 1 yr clock clock starts after you enroll the first computer. Still it may be much cheaper to do all at the same time for the great savings over online renewal. BTW Norton customer service was excellent in doing the updates on all 3 computers for me as a somewhat novice. The last 2 times I have contacted them I received excellent and prompt customer care. Be sure to register your products online and create an account with them so you can get to free customer service easier and they will have all the product key codes in your file for the future, or if your hard drive crashes and you need to re-install (which they did for me quickly recently). I don't know why the other reviewer is squawking about a 10 day trial rip-off, that is not true at all. This is for a full year for three computers. I have used Norton for many years and the current versions are much improved and take up less resources than in the past. Excellent product.
I purchased a three-pc version of Norton Antivirus 2012 back in October and installed it on three of my PCs - two desktops and one laptop. It's worked perfectly since. It's been awhile since I had made that purchase and tonight I found that the antivirus protection on my other laptop had expired. My dad's desktop had also recently expired too so I decided to run over to Best Buy and pick up another 3-user box. Bad move. While Amazon's current price is just over $20 I paid %59.99 plus tax at Best Buy. I wish I had remember buying it here before I made that trip. Do yourself a favor - you need to have virus protection on your PCs and Norton is one of the top performers. Plan far enough ahead and get it from Amazon - you'll get a great product at a great price!
I would have give Norton 5 stars , because this is my second year of using it without any viruses imbeding in my computer and I have encountered viruses in unexpected places,[searching for information on chainsaw chains & bares, searching fore lawn tractor salvage yards]. Norton seems to have a lot of bells & whistles that I dont use because Norton is trouble free , I have no need to try the B&Ws. Just plug and play. However, I was already using 2011 Norton before I purchased the latest version of the same thing. What was lacking in the Norton instructions was wether I needed to remove the previous Norton software from my hard drive before downloading the the newer version. I removed the previous version anyway. Mabe that was a extra step I didn't have to take
I have been using Norton for quite some time now and I didn't have an iota of doubt about the quality of the product. I wanted an instant download but unfortunately it was not available at the time I was ordering. So I thought of buying this one.
Things I liked: - On time delivery - Easily accessible product key - Quick to install
Things that could have been better: - If you already have a 30-day trial running, explicit instructions could have been provided for entering the product key sent with this box. I had to hunt for the place to enter (which was inside the popup that comes up when you hit "Renew" button.) Its not a big deal, but I could have saved a few minutes if instructions were provided upfront.
I have multiple PCs and just want to protect them from viruses. I find the more complicated products just seem to introduce problems. I have been buying the Norton Antivirus, one user, 3 PC product for several years. It is easy to install and does the job. It is true that the activation date starts when the first copy is loaded but I find this helps to remind me that they are all due at the same time. One caution, if you buy a new copy to install when the subscription runs out, don't install the new copy until the last day. If you have 10 days left on your old subscription when you install the new copy, you will get 365 days on the new subscription, not 375 days.
This is my third or fourth time I've bought Norton Antivirus over the years and am very pleased with how easy it is to scan and how you can shut it off when you don't want it running in the background. This one for 3 pc's is a very good deal too.
PS: Just know that as soon as you install it, the amount of "days to renew subscription" automatically goes to only 365 days...so if you still have 32 days remaining on your previous version, wait that 32 days or you'll just lose it when you install the new version. ;)
I have Antivirus from Trend-Micro, McAfee, and Norton. Norton AntiVirus is the only one bootable from CD to kill virus on affected PCs. The rest products need to be installed before you can use them. When your PC is affected and unable to reboot, or keeps reboot itself, how can you install any software? Hopefully, Norton will keep the tradition. When compared from its AntiVirus 2011, I prefer 2011. 2012 starts to insert some restrictions, such as detecting what OS on a PC befor it scans. You can use the CD on any PCs. But production code is asked.
Product arrived on time. I have been using Norton Anti Virus for years. I have tried other Anti Virus but always come back to Norton. It is easy to use and recent products have not had a problem installing. This particular one is for 3 computers. I have a desktop, and 2 laptops and installed this program on all of them without a problem. At this point, I cannot find anything negative to say.
