Love this brand. They are so durable and they use the safest kind of plastic. Only one complaint, I have a small mouth and this is very hard to drink out of. I have to sip really slowly and it almost always spills. My son has a hard time with it too. However, he has dragged it on the ground behind his skateboard, dunked it through a basketball hoop, it even got run over by a car! We just popped it back into its normal shape and it's a little scratchy and beat up but it's STILL intact. At this price and with this level of safety and durability, I'm willing to spill water down my front all day.
I love the size. It may be a bit smaller than the usual 32oz, but it fits most of my backpacks well.
The HDPE is softer than the other plastics treated with hardeners (like BPA), but IMHO it is a plus. It seems to be a high quality HDPE, that performs very well for long time without breaking apart due to UV light.
Being softer makes it less likely to break in extreme conditions, when the water freezes or when it falls from a considerable height.
The wide mouth makes opening the bottle much easier. Especially in freezing conditions when the ice clogs the opening and one has to struggle with mittens.
I like these water bottles. They are: easy to open, close, drink from, leak proof, don't smell bad and can be tossed in the dishwasher. I drive all day for work, I take a couple with me everyday and manage drinking (water lol) while driving just fine. I have teenagers that take water bottles to school with them, so we go through 6 to 8 a day. I half fill the bottles with water each night, then freeze them. In the morning I just fill the rest of the bottle with water and off they go. The children refill them all day at school. These bottles seem to be indestructible. I hate to say, but the reason I buy them is they're the least expensive "safe" chemical free water bottle I feel comfortable letting my children drink out of. Unfortunately, these bottles seem to be left at: school, music lessons, soccer, basketball, football, track, play practice, left in friends cars or houses and "borrowed" by friends on a regular basis. I've lost more bottles than you'd imagine over the years, but keep coming back for more because I trust them.
While we love the see-through nature of the polycarbonate bottles they just don't last and you can only drop them or run them through the dishwasher so many times. Our HDPE cycling bottles have lasted forever and we knew we'd get that from the Nalgene version.
