I have asthma and have placed several of these Honeywell air purifiers in my home. They work great! I have done some amateur level testing with an air quality monitor and also have the direct personal experience of using them during the super bad wild fire events of the last couple of years. They have been a lifesaver for me! But, they are noisy. I have one of the smaller units in my bedroom and it makes a pretty loud buzz that can be irritating when I am trying to sleep. I even bought a new one of the same size and it was even worse so I returned it. But I discovered that the slightly bigger unit (the one with two HEPA filters) is actually a bit better in terms of the buzz though the fan "whooshing" noise is slightly louder. Anyway, I found that the sound of the air moving through the fan is not as irritating so I am now using one of those in my bedroom at the lowest setting. That is just my experience and yours may vary. Just be aware that these Honeywell Air Purifiers work extremely well but noise is a factor. I have one of the larger units (with three HEPA filters) in my living room and I cannot stand to have it set on anything above the second speed while watching TV. I am too cheap to try one of the more expensive "quiet" brands. I can live with these for now.
This product did not work for my hold! It seemed to more so push the dust round it the air instead of filtering it. So this is the short story....we just bought a house over 2500 sqft and we have a10 year old Hepa Rabbit Air Purifier and it just a beautiful machine still works like it brand new, so I wanted to leave it down stairs in the living area. So, I purchased 2 of the Honeywell purifiers, one for the master bedroom and one my daughters room. The first night using Honeywell I was stuffy, second night I couldn’t tell a difference and the third night I was stuffy and my daughter started coughing! I’m literally writing this review in the middle of the night right when this happened so you will know but anyway.... I had to bring the Rabbit purifier back upstairs and in a matter of mins no more coughing or stuffy nose!!! We will stick with Rabbit Air yes they are EXPENSIVE but it works for us.
I bought this unit for my small apartment. Until I started using this product, every day I would wake up with a stuffy nose and congestion. Since using this unit, that is no longer the case. I keep mine set on "allergy" but there are two other settings -- germ and general. Best of all there is a timer and also a turbo setting. Besides clearing my air of allergy particles it is also very quiet (well except on turbo). Great product and great value for the money. If you have a big house you could buy two of these or there is a larger model too.
Like most of the world having to work from home during the pandemic required me to get this device for my office..I did notice that the air is cleaner and I am less stuffy (animal allergies and pollen/dust), and generally finding the air quality in the room is better. This HPA100 unit is great, the room is about 10'x10' and i use it about 8 hours a day on the middle setting (General Clean) and it works wonders. I've purchased a set of replacement filters which are great, I am trying to replace filters about every 30-60 days as there is ALOT of cat hair in this room (one litter box and two cat-beds share the room with me) and it seems to remove all airbone stuff.
I'd say great product for a smaller office, and I am thinking of purchasing another one for our master bedroom.
Very low noise. Lower than a small personal desk fan. Cleans my entire room! Setup is easy, just remove a few plastic bags and orientate the filters. Don't forget to place device at least 3 feet off of the ground and a little away from the wall for optimum air circulation!
This is a nice size air purifier that seems to work well. The reason I only gave it 4 stars is because it’s very loud. I tried sleeping with it on, but it was too noisy for me. I run it during the day while I’m not in the room instead of during the night. I originally bought it to use specifically while sleeping, but unfortunately it’s just too loud.
I bought it after I read other reviews. The product seems great but it's just too noisy for the bedroom. I know it's a white noise but a very loud one. I own a Winix 6300-2 air purifier which isn't as loud as the Honeywell and it performs equally. The size is very convenient because it's very fit for a bedroom and also I can move it to the playroom during the day.
My allergy doctor told me to get a air purifier with a Heppa filter because I am allergic to my cats. I am using it as he told me to and there has been a huge difference in my allergies. Partly due to medication I know but I am sure this is also helping. It is pretty loud on the high setting which is the setting you need to use to use the Heppa filter. I have been able to sleep with it on but have been used to the sound of a fan running at night.
