A well made item that seems to do it's job but as other reviews say, has blue LED lights that are far too bright. What I usually do with LED's that are too bright is to write over them with black CD marker pen. That sometimes dims them down. Why they need to be so bright I don't know. Maybe so they can be seen from space. The switch itself seems to work, but may leak a small amount of power to the unselected device. Value for money though as the included leads would cost near enough the cost of the whole item by themselves. They are very thick USB 3 type leads. On a safety level, don't look directly into bright LED lights for a length of time. Dull them down or cover them with tape.
Not very impressed with this item because I got it for a 4GB 2.5" drive (purchased at the same time) to share between my Laptop and the TV. It did not work at all with the TV or my laptop, neither would load the drive, my laptop made a connection sound then after 1 second made a disconnection sound, after a couple of afternoons trying different hard drives I found that it only works with powered 3.5" HD's - no good for my setup but maybe OK if you have the 3.5" powered drives. PS I don't have a powered 2.5" drive so could not test one.
Small, smart & does the job, personally I wished it switched a bit quicker but I think the delay is mostly windows redetecting the Keyboard and mouse plugged into the hub connected to this (I am using it as 2 port KVM), but then all hardward based KVM's have these delays and don't repeat the device as such to windows which is a shame.
- it takes a few seconds to switch between machines, which is irritating - sometimes you need to press the button a few times before it switches, which is annoying - it looks and feels really flimsy and cheap
It's not a bad device, but I think it's overpriced given the less-than-brilliant quality
It is a good product to swap between 2 pcs, but not for monitors. It is not the product's faul, it is how your devices work. when they switch, your devices need to know that there are now new devices plugged in and need to adjust to that. So won't be a sleek experience
Windows 10 / Windows 7 Product works fine for my logitech mouse but have to swap back and forward to get my microsoft ergo keyboard working. Dont know if this is related to just microsoft keyboards or all keyboards.
Button has a really bright blue light that is somewhat annoying. experienced issues using it with a Windows Surface device it wouldn't alow me to select ig... just kept flashing. had to turn in my second device to get it to cooperate. Provided cables were also somewhat shirt.
