The instruction in the box says place it on the outside of the crank arm but that's impossible as there isn't enough room and it runs on your shoe. Finally got it working only for it now to stop working. First signs were that Zwift appeared to be reading a cadence figure much less than the wahoo app on my phone. Now the phone won't connect even though the light flashes on the device so there is some power. Changing the battery should be simple but you end up butchering the plastic using a screwdriver and twisting which is the method suggested - even using multiple size screwdrivers it still wasn't "prizing" off as the online instructions suggest. (Nothing in the leaflet supplied). Only had the device a few days so I assume battery supplied is dead or else the unit is faulty. Will update review once I buy a new battery!
Before buying this product I read the reviews and because there were only a few that said it had problems connecting I bought it regardless. The cadence sensor as practical as it is to install with various option is useless anyway or so I thought as there is a method to attach it to your shoe. I used this method to start. The sensor connected to my phone and the Wahoo app but didn't register cadence when I rode. When I search for post ride information it showed intermittent information as if it picked up movement on occasion while on the ride. So, rubbish in, rubbish out as far as the data is concerned.
I then tried it to attach it to the peddle crank and this seems to work. So, my advice is that it works on the peddle crank arm only and worth it if you are happy with that. It's a generally recommended way to use cadence devices anyway but if you were thinking of putting on your shoe good luck.
Two product returns within 3 days due to dead batteries is very disappointing. I would not recommend purchasing this product from Amazon.
Update: Amazon support acknowledged the issues with my order and provided a partial refund. After installing a replacement battery, the sensor is now working correctly but I would still advise caution in buying this product from Amazon.
Works great until you up the pace then it seems to drop the Bluetooth connection intermittently which is very annoying when you are on apps like Zwift, especially going up a hill as you stop and start on the steep sections. Impossible to have a 'race' with anyone as the connection is unstable. Not sure if I have a bit of a Friday afternoon speed sensor and cadence, but can see others have had similar issues. Tried it on my iPad, iPhone and Android phone with exactly the same problem on all of them, anything over 85-90 RPM and it starts to drop the connection. I'll wait to see if anyone has any suggestions, but suspect they will be getting returned :(
Well made and a super device. I spent most of the day trying to connect it to my phone to use on Zwift. Sometimes it would connect and then it would drop out. I checked the wifi and just about everything I could think off. I then thought battery, surely not it’s new. I tested the battery and it was virtually flat. Put in new battery and it connected straight away.
