I hung this from a door cross member with a chain and caribiner and my dog was really into tugging on it while I was punching my punching bag. Without having an outlet for aggression when he perceived I was being aggressive, he would get in the way of what I was trying to do. So, this was a good solution, as long as the angle he was tugging was near parallel to the ground so that pieces he pulled off the toy wouldn’t fall down his throat, which they would likely do if his head was straight back. However, the toy was mostly destroyed within two weeks. I then drilled a hole in the remaining pieces and rehung each one once the previous one was destroyed so that he could tug on them again, which extended the toy’s lifespan. Still over priced IMO considering they’re probably quite inexpensive to manufacture.
The toy is as described while still being rubbery. However both ones that i ordered smell like they're offgassing rubber chemicals for a while and have a film that has to be scrubbed off. Great toy after that
We have two medium Labrador dogs. they liked it initially, but did not bother with it after a while. We noticed a strong rubbery Smokey Oder. Maybe that is why. Perhaps it is a bit too big for them to play with.
We finally found a chewie that our Dobie that lasted over 48-72 hours. It has now been a few weeks and there's not a make on it. P.S. it is heavy so a medium dog such as a border collie would not enjoy it. Plus be careful your dog doesn't accidentally hit you with it. You'll remember.
Best toy we have ever bought. We have had it for a few months and there is not one tear or scratch. We have a power chewer as well. Our dogs play tug of war with it alllll the time too. Well worth the price.
