I rated this a 3 because of the texture and feel. The formula itself seems to work really well, it does heal and moisturize seemingly excellently. However, even using a TINY pea-sized amount for both of my hands, it is so STICKY. The formula is quite thick, a bit thicker than vaseline and of similar color and greasiness. It seems to melt as you apply it, which helps get a decent coating on your hands with so little an amount. But then it is very sticky. It does not absorb in, your hands will stay that sticky for at least 12 hours (the longest I have worn it overnight for, so far). When you wash your hands in the morning, they will feel greasy and weird until you can get the lotion all the way off. The price is good, and the formula does work, but the whole experience is so onerous and unpleasant I just don't think it's really worth it. I ended up with two bottles, so I'll use it as a night treatment until they're gone, but I doubt I will repurchase.
I'm a stay at home mom with three kids, two in cloth diapers. I wash my hands easily 20 times a day, sometimes three times in 10 min (back to back poopy diapers anyone?). It's fine in summer, but now with winter settling in, my hands are red, beginning to crack, and just all around sad. I bought this hand creme on a whim, always in search of something to save my hands, and now I never want to go through winter without it. Last night my hands were pitiful, red patches spreading all over, down to my wrists. I put the cream on before bed, and when I woke up, they were soft, smooth, with the red patches reduced to a few pink tinges. Very happy with this product. It's out of stock as I write this, so I'll be keeping an eye on it.
I have asked my dermatologists (one of mine retired and my kids go to a different one so a total of 3) and they all say the same thing - THIS is the best solution for dry hands. I have spent a fortune on expensive brands, bought a dozen beautifully packaged scented ones, used corn husker stuff, animal balm stuff, you name it. This is the only one that actually works. I haven't been able to find it in stores recently so I can straight to Amazon.
This hand cream works really well but I use it on my feet. My feet get so dry in the winter. I use it on my cuticles also. I don't know why it's called a "cream". It's really a see-through "gel" (very thick too). Some lotions are so thin (almost watery). This definitely it not one of those! And, even though it comes in a really small tube-like bottle it does last a long time. I would recommend this for hands, feet, etc. For those of you who prefer unscented it has none.
Being in the healthcare industry i constantly wash my hands and this resulted in dry cracked hands. I tried several creams and lotions and none worked well. Then finally I tried Neutrogena and it works like magic. You can work the cream into the cracked areas and it kind of thickens up as you keep applying it into the cracked skin. After a few applications my cracked dry hands became normal. I highly recommend this product.
This is possibly the best hand and body cream I’ve ever used!
I was skeptical about it but it was rated as chemically safe, so I thought I would give it a try. It proved to be amazing! It feels thick at first but, then it immediately soaks in, making my skin soft and supple. It does not leave a greasy feeling, yet it feels like it has left a thin barrier to protect my skin. It also has no chemical smell.
You only need a large pea size of this cream to keep your hands hydrated, and it's super effective. My hands still seem to feel soft after I wash my hands the first time after putting this on. I don't need to immediately reapply this cream after one hand washing is what I'm saying. It's a fair price for this even though it's a small tube. It actually lasts a long time. Top stays on even if I throw it in a bag or my purse.
I've loved this hand cream for over 25 years. It's very thick and only a small dab is needed. It is unscented and concentrated... if you overdo it, you'll conclude that it's too greasy - so don't overdo it! With daily use, hands will stay soft and supple through the toughest New England winter. If you're a frequent hand washer use it more often. Use it at bedtime for overnight treatment, your hands will thank you!
I love this stuff. I am very sensitive to fragrance, and this is indeed fragrance-free. (Sometimes "fragrance-free" products still have a bit of a scent.) It's a little greasy at first, but it absorbs relatively quickly. It's more of a gel than a cream or lotion, which is great. It makes a noticeable difference in the softness of my usually dry hands, even 12+ hours after I apply it. Can't beat the price either.
I purchased no scent. If you have chapped or dry hands don’t bother with lotion. Get this. Feels thick going on but within 2 minutes your hands will appreciate it. Have used on my feet as well. Have used this for years. Tried other things more expensive but keep returning to this.
