I bought this so I can sneak my vodka into concerts. Since most places use metal detectors, the plastic won't show up. I buy a $8 lemonade with free refills and drink real cheap all night long. Who wants to pay $22 for a double shot of a mixed drink? Not me. Buy this and save lots of money for other things.
I own 13 of these flasks. Very sturdy and a very convenient shape for carrying inside a coat in very cold weather. I use these flasks for storing and transporting methanol (denatured alcohol) for my alcohol cooking burners used when camping. The only complaint that I have is that the original caps for all the flasks utilize a flimsy cardboard and foil seal that will eventually begin leaking. I have solved that by using the pop open lids from ordinary rubbing alcohol and peroxide bottles. Those lids never leak and allow me to squirt a small and precise stream of methanol when filling my alcohol burners to heat my meals. (see photo of the replacement caps I am using). Any sturdy 20mm plastic cap will work as well and be much less likely to leak than the original caps. It is an easy fix to the leaking cap problem and has worked perfectly over the past several years for me and my friends. Too bad these otherwise perfect flasks need a backyard fix like this to bring them to perfection as methanol fuel containers. Other users may not experience this problem at all depending on the liquids they are storing in these flasks. Overall I am very pleased and have not found anything better for this purpose during the last 20 years. The flaskes hold about 17 oz of methanol (515 ml of water). Thanks for a great product and very fast delivery.
The low profile color is key to sneaking a sip of my smuggled whiskey;
I'll still purchase a beer at the concession stand but after that I'm good and doing my own thing saving 13.00 for each beer on tap.
When I bought this flask I also purchased the Nalgene 12ox clear flask with built in blue removable sleeve/cup. This is fine for clear hooch if I'm packing Vodka or Gin. But I'm a Bushmills-kind-of-guy. "Enjoy, but never drink and drive please"
Prefect for getting your own booze into concerts, festivals or the like. I'm sure there are less sketchy things to do with it but let's be real, there is a reason someone's looking for a plastic flask, and it's not cuz they're sexy.
Doesn't leak, and it's light, and the price is definitely right. But after having bourbon in it for a few days, it still smells like bourbon, after repeated washings. That's not really a problem for me, since it will only be used for bourbon, and never for the good stuff. But still, maybe it would be for you.
This type of seal is not intended for repeated or extended use like an o-ring, for instance. A silicone washer inside would have solved this issue. If I had to do it over again, I would have spend a little more and purchased a nalgene bottle with a better sealing top.
I am a small woman but the opening where the top screws off, is very small. It might be good for a child. It is not a comfortable opening from which to drink, and top is a very dinky screw on cop. This was not expensive, but it was expensive for what it is. If you buy it, you might have to pour the liquid into a separate cup. It's too inexpensive to bother about sending it back, but if you read this review, don't buy it. You can do better. On the other hand, if you are buying it for a 6 or 7 year old, it would be good because their small mouth would be comfortable around it. It's also not made that well..
Great product for the price but unfortunately I had to return it because it was just too big. Should’ve paid more attention to the fl oz. This thing is like the size of a canteen. It would be great for camping or something but no way that is fitting in anyone’s pocket!
I like to paint and sketch outdoors with watercolors. My field kit has to be reasonably light and manageable. Carrying a water supply is essential. Typical plastic drinking bottles are bulky and cylindrical and difficult to pack. This flask is lightweight but very well made and fits flush inside my pack. It was a perfect addition to my kit.
I'm glad I found these. I am using two of these flask to carry alcohol stove fuel while backpacking. The weight and capacity are perfect for this as well as the shape, allows it to fit so much better in the pack than a round bottle. Will purchase again for human alcohol.... for those cold trips.
