I just got this today and I was really excited to try it out BUT now I'm not happy anymore because it didn't give me an accurate number of my actual bodyweight except for the 25lb dumbbell I have which did gave me the accurate number for the dumbbell. When I weigh myself, I'll get one number, then try again 5 minutes later and get different number that says I'm up 3 pounds. I've been going up the scale every 5 minutes and it'll give a different number. A total waste of money because this product lacks any consistency.
I do have to give a thumbs up for the look of the scale because it looks really nice, but a HUGE thumbs down for the inaccurate numbers.
Please please PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS SCALE! :( You'll thank me later!!!
Inaccurate! Very frustrating to step on it one day and it tell me I lost two pounds, then I step on it the next day and I've suddenly gained 5 pounds. It makes it really hard to keep track of my weight loss. It's nice looking but ultimately a piece of junk. My coworker bought this as well and is having the same issue. SAVE YOUR MONEY.
I have tried two of these scales now, both freak out (see video) when I step on it at 240 lbs, but my kids and wife are able to get it to lock on to their weight. I also attached two photos of my weights on the scale to show that even when it does finally decide on a weight, it is inaccurate. Other than it being completely useless, it's a beautiful design.
Initially this scale worked fine but after a year of very light to no use at all, the battery died. I replaced it but now the readings are inaccurate. I tried other reviewers suggestions like recalibrating it back to 0.0 but still the numbers are inconsistent after stepping on and off of it a few times in a row...so frustrating.
The scale doesn't give me accurate numbers at all. I'll weigh myself and get one number, then try again 1 minute later and get another number that differs by several pounds. A total waste of money because this product lacks any consistency.
I purchased this scale because: (1) the company is giving back to the community (the NPO they support) (2) I saw their customer service team genuinely trying to help unsatisfied customers on Amazon (3) their customer service team is in the United States (4) the sleek design and the use of LITHIUM CR2032 batteries (5) the 5-year warranty. This item arrived in sustainable packaging and they actually INCLUDED the batteries.
The pictures come close but they don't quite do this scale justice. It is so sleek and smooth in person. The scale also doesn't make you wait 20 seconds to step on it again the way that some scales do or how some scales rotate through different profiles. This scale is very responsive; you step on it, it lights up, you step off, and the numbers go away. I hope that this product lasts a long time but if it doesn't, I have confidence that they will make things right. Say goodbye to the exploding "German technology" scale on Amazon that I was almost suckered into buying. Toss out the Sunbeam or Taylor brand junk (that's anywhere from 4-15 pounds off) you bought or were planning to buy at the big box store. Do yourself a favor and quit searching for the right scale. Stop thinking that spending $50+ on a scale, or trying to find the world's best analog or medical scale is the answer to your problem.
Generally, I really like this scale. Size is about right to stand on comfortably, though it could be a hair larger (I'm a men's size 10 shoe, if that helps). The digits are large and easy to read, plus the stay present long enough to look down and read.
My only issue is the initial reading is always wrong. It could be because I store it vertically, but the when I put it on the floor, the first reading is always 3 - 4 lbs. heavier. I then let it reset and step on again. From that point forward, all readings are consistent. But that first one is a throw away. It's not something I can't work around, I'm just hoping it's not a defect.
This was an awful scale. It only managed to get a weight 1 time on my 9 yr old. No matter how still you stand with shoes on or off it just would not work. You move it to different flat surface areas and still nothing. The scale fluctuates repeatedly until it blacks out. I though it was a good price and a good quality scale.
*Please note that I gave this scale five stars despite the fact I had literally unboxed it ten minutes prior. I am THAT impressed.
First off, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality packaging of this scale. It arrived in a simplistic box, with a pull tab to open. On the inside of the top of the box, it reminded me that a portion of my purchase is going to Love146, a charity that helps fight child trafficking and helps provide support to victims and their families. If I step on this scale and I've made no progress in my weight loss journey, or perhaps I've even set myself back, I will smile and be okay in that moment because my purchase of this scale is helping a much greater cause.
Second, on the top of the scale was a plastic peel sheet which directed me to the website to help me get started in using it. I had no problem accessing the site, and the directions given to me via video could not have been any clearer. The website also had a link to activate my five year warranty. It could not have been any easier to activate.
Third, the scale itself. WOW. It looks very well built. It seems exponentially sturdier than any store-bought scale I have purchased. The size of the scale was exactly as expected, as it is a basic bathroom scale. The LCD display is big and easy to read. The blue backlight is not blinding; it is more of a comforting shade of blue (A, excuse the dark hallway I took these photos in, and B, that's an attempt at a joke as I am using this scale during my weight loss journey). The scale weighs within +/- .2 lbs just as advertised. I had my son step off and on this scale four or five times, and each time it read the same weight (60.4 lbs). Then, I asked him to step on the scale with a five pound kettlebell, and it read 65.2 lbs. I firmly attribute the - .2 lbs to the kettle bells being puchased from Walmart.
All in all, a this was a satisfying purchase thus far.
