For what it is (2 pieces of small white card and a thin in pad) I find this product slightly over priced. The ink itself does not seem to dry I took an imprint when my son was a month old that was 2 months ago and the ink is still sticky. You have to get it right the first time, which is difficult enough but especially with his product as the ink pad runs out after 2 impressions. I would still recommend this product however, as the impressions came out perfectly and there was no mess if your willing to maybe laminate the impressions to prevent smudging then this product can be a nice baby shower gift.
A good value product and if you managed to get baby's hand/foot correctly positioned and consistent pressure you do get a really good print. Acouple of times though baby moved changing position/pressure and the resulting prints were not great.
Decent little kit which gave a surprisingly good result on my newborn's foot. I put the card behind the ink pad, on a firm flat surface, and pressed his foot firmly onto it for few seconds while he was breast feeding.
Annoyingly though, although it said it came with 2 pieces of card, it only had one :-(
This product comes with several white cards and a thin film of taught plastic invaded in a cardboard frame. One one side is a thin film of carbon copy paper “dust” and it’s covered with a protective film. The print quality you get with the film is amazing, but you are doing this with a baby. They are pretty much guaranteed to fidget, or you press their foot or hand on the square and it looks funny or is really off centre. So I think the package should come with two films as you can only use the film twice at most, because the dust is so thin that most of it comes off with contact. I would definitely say this is a two person job. I did it just myself and my baby and it was a struggle. It was impossible to get his hand open, even though he was sleeping, due to the clench reflex newborns have, then dab the ha d and position it all on my own. So this is one of the areas where having a second person could really help. Wiped off my baby’s hands and feet very easily. No residue left.
Only comes with 2 papers for prints. Also ink pad is not that big! My daughter has huge feet and her foot just fit on it at 10 weeks old. We managed to get 1 foot print. Hand prints are not dueable on it. For the cost it was all right as I didn't have to scrub her foot afterwards which is nice.
It works as stated and baby had no ink on them but I found that baby moved too much to get a nice clean stamp. I prefer the old ink and paper method and I can keep trying until he cooperates, here you r 2 strikes and you’re out. You might get a couple more if you have your own paper but they wouldn’t be very dark. I didn’t even bother to try his hand there was no way I was going to get that open/flat and not moving. A nice idea but didn’t work overly well for us. Maybe when baby is older but then we’d need bigger paper.
Mine arrived with 2 cut outs for prints. You put the cut out behind the stamp/ink pad and you press your Little ones hand/foot on the other side of the ink pad and it transfers over. Love the clarity of the stamp(you can see wrinkles and lines on that hand/foot) but don't love the amount of ink it has. Newborns usually clench their fists so the hand ones can be a bit tricky to do, you might have about 4 Stamps at most before the ink starts to get lighter and lighter and less visible
