Good: VERY flexible makes it easy to use! This size DOES fit well on the shorty 5.5 oz cans of cat food, tuna, etc. This size DOES fit well on the 15 oz size cans of Hash, Kidney Beans, Campbell's Soups.
The Bad: This size is too large to create a snug fit on the little cans of Fancy Feast which is the reason that we bought them for. The specific part that covers the tops of the container being covered is super thin; I worry about it tearing. It's thinner than the rim area.
Sort of related note: For the larger cat food cans, we use the plastic lids from the 9 oz. Frito's Bean Dip. Extremely durable, PERFECT FIT for the 5.5 oz canned cat food (Friskies, Blue Mountain, etc.)
These things are decent. We bought them for soda/pop cans. They cover the cans really well, but then you see them slightly blow up like a balloon over the course of a half hour. I don't feel like they keep beverages carbonated very well because of that -- I imagine the moment you take them off, all the gas that was trapped just gets released because it's already separated from the liquid. But, I do like to think they slow the process down because the pressure can only get so high. After 12 hours though, the beverage is pretty much flat regardless.
I carefully measured the little pyrex bowls and yogurt containers which I hoped to cover with these lids. The measurements fit within the advertised range. However, the lids do not readily stretch to the diameter advertised. I tried to force the lids over one pyrex bowl and ended up flipping the bowl and spilling the contents. The lids do fit my small, commercial yogurt containers (tightly), so I kept the set. However, I have been unable to utilize them on the small pyrex bowls. I am disappointed.
I am not easily able to put your lids on a 4-inch diameter can. Your product description indicates these small lids fit up to a 4-inch dia. container. Clearly, this is not the case. If I do get the lid on, after cursing the process due to the struggle, it winds up popping off by the time I retrieve the product to use it again. Very disappointing and I wish I could get my money back, but the product is open and the packaging has been thrown away.
Head the warnings from other reviewers about making sure the vessel is dry. Even a little dampness from being pulled from the fridge and sat on a counter is enough to make them not work. I also notice they absorb the smell of the food, especially onions.
Two are broken already after a week. They don’t like stretching over things they should easily fit on, and then shoot across the room like a rubber band. Shouldn’t be so easy to puncture if they’re intended to go over cans.
