To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we do not use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I just received this frother today. The switch does not move into the high, low, and off settings properly. I have to carefully wiggle it into the setting I want. Also, the frother was shipped very poorly - the amazon box it came in was way too large, so the frother was not secure in transit. I am questioning the lifespan this frother will have. Pretty disappointed for the $30+ price.
If you're using this for Bulletproof Coffee & have been using something like a Vitamix, DO NOT EXPECT SIMILAR RESULTS. Will this froth the top of something? With a much larger container than needed because the conical shape it creates when using it is SO tall (yes, I made a huge mess the first time) yes. But it did NOT look OR TASTE the same as when I blend mine in my Vitamix, so just know that. And that's ok, it's a different product. But so many positive reviews saying it was great for bulletproof coffee were misleading to me. Yes, it tackled the (melting in boiling coffee) Ghee, but under the (less than impressive) foam, the coffee itself looked like when I'd tried adding oat milk or something else & it didn't blend the same in my blender... it's MUCH darker & watery/more bitter than when using the real blender where the coffee stays a pale, creamy color throughout & has a richer, creamier taste.
If you're used to/like your bulletproof coffee darker/more watery AND you're ok using a much taller cup/glass than the 'size' of your coffee to prevent spillage (& not dirty another glass, hence the desire to purchase this product), then this will do the job. Though, the one thing I didn't like is the on/high/off switches should be reversed. When it's out of control and I wanted to turn it off, you actually have to hold it with one hand and push the button back towards the ceiling to turn it off. It would be easier to push down with one hand.
It has two speeds and it blends well to create nice foamy drinks, like warm milk and creamers. It's also easy to clean and use. I always use name brand batteries ( Like Energizer and Duracell) because I don't like that cheap ones leak and can damage electronics. I always remove the whisk to clean and only use and damp cloth to clean the handle. BUT, and it's a big but, the only problem I have is that, with all the care I did, it only lasted 5 months. I know some might said that it is affordable, but they advertise in the description the so called "durability" I suggest investing on a better brand, even if it's a few bucks extra. UPDATE: So, I emailed the company and they contacted me back in less than 24 hours (that's a huge point in their side) They apologize for the product not lasting as expected. They thank me for reaching out and immediately offer to send me a new replacement. SECOND UPDATE: Unfortunately I never received the replacement. After emailing them requested information,(order number and shipping address) and following up 3 additional times, I never heard back from them again. Superb Customer Service is important when products don't function as expected and this company has not met that criteria.
I tried to upload a video to explain, but I'm no longer able to do that after all the Safari and website "upgrades" and technical changes. I'm not motivated to learn that skill now, so I'll use my words instead.
I have owned two Cafe Casa frothers first purchased in 2017. I have been very satisfied. They don't last forever, but we use ours multiple times per day every day. We decided to buy one to have in reserve when ours finally gives out. The new one, with the new-to-me brand "Frothy" arrived today.
First problem, this package had obviously been opened before, and I suspect I got someone else's return. The box lid was loose, the plastic wrap was open and not covering the product, the insert was obviously folded oddly, and there were no batteries. Strike one, I expected a new, unopened product. I concluded I did not get a new, unopened product.
Second problem, the appearance of the product was not exactly the same as the ones previously purchased. Since I love my cafe casa frother so much, I decided this one deserved a chance. Since Amazon indicated I had purchased this before, I assumed it was the same product. When I went back and looked at the Amazon description, I realized they did not promise batteries even though there is an empty spot for them in the packaging. I put the same batteries I always use in this new one and turned it on. I noticed the motor sound was much higher pitch than the old one. That could be good or bad, so I looked closer at the unit. I noticed a couple of very minor changes in the outward appearance of the product - almost imperceptible reductions in size on the black "cushion" between the body and the battery well cap; and a longer space between the frother wand and the body. Strike two, I expected the exact product I had previously purchased. This was different and I would have to take more steps to decide if it was better or worse or the same.
Third, I instinctively pushed the wand down into the body to see if there was any play in the fit. A weird thing happened. In spite of the on/off button being "off", the unit powered on and the wand began spinning. The on/off button did not move, but the battery lid pushed down away from the body of the unit. I set the unit on the counter and pushed the battery cap back into place and the on/off button moved to "on". I was then able to turn the unit off. Strike three - you're out. This one's going back. Next time I need a new frother, I will try a different product altogether.
Just ordered 2 of these one for myself and one for a gift, testing it for the first time the switch is so cheap there is not enough resistance to stop it from switching straight to hi, and hi is so fast it spins the liquid out of my glass! Seems to be fine other than that, too bad they do not put in a decent switch. I will be returning both.
seems like the company assumed that everyone wants heavy electronic devices because back in the day, the heavier, the sturdier. that's not how it is anymore. this item is obnoxiously heavy to the point where your hand will get tired by the time the frothing is complete. the motor seems to work fine, but the weight of it is a huge downside. i cant return because outside of the window but if i could return, i would. all of these companies selling frothers on amazon likely buy the motor from the same manufacturer, which is what were paying for
Wanted to like it, feels sturdy yet a month or so in and it's making grinding or ceasing type of sound, sometimes speed one does not even spin, and then speed two is too fast for a simple stir of a cup of tea...spills over the edge. Another flaw is there is not enough stopping distinction between the two speeds...e.g. its super easy to slip into second speed by accident. I'm going to return it. I chose this because of all the great reviews, my reality is quite different.
I loved this frother when I first received it, great power, easy to clean, etc... Used it daily for my coffee. Now 6 months later it will no longer power on, there seems to be a short of some kind. While in use, it was stored upright on my counter by the coffee make, rinsed the tip after each stirring, I practiced the recommended cleaning, and tried fresh batteries... Since I am past the return window, nothing to do now but purchase a different one to replace it which will hopefully last longer.
It was fantastic when it worked, but now the cover that holds the batteries in doesn't stay on. It doesn't look broken, I think it's just a poor design. The cover just slides in place and doesn't have a latch to lock it in place. Because the frother vibrates while running if often would just shake off the battery cover and the batteries would pop out, but now the cover doesn't stay on at all. Such a shame, because we loved it. Going to buy another one with a different design.
I've been happy with the frother, but it is now no longer working after 2.5 years of near daily use. I guess I should be glad it lasted so long; however, I've seen conflicting information on the length of the warranty--it could be one-year, five-years, or lifetime. I wonder if the company is still in business because I called the 404 number of Idea Marketing Group, but it seems as if it is now a personal phone number.
