It may not be the vendor's fault, but these were advertised as "frequently bought with" the gate I purchased (Summer Infant Multi-Use Deco Extra Tall Walk-Thru Gate, Bronze), but they cannot be used. When the wall cups are touching the floor, the tension pads on the gate are lower than the bottom lip of the cup.
These wall cup mounts to prevent gate from sliding or moving are useless. My cat and both puppies can hit the gate just right which makes the gate slide and pop open. My 20 lb cat did it first and puppies figured it out after that. I thought these cups could prevent the gate from sliding on the wall but they can’t. Even with the gate adjusted to a tight setting that make it nearly impossible for the humans in the house from opening the gate my animals can make the gate slide and pop open over and over!
Bought these by mistake to another brand that looks similar... Wow I can believe the quality difference.... I dropped these once and they split in half and trying to keep them together while trying to mount a pressure mounted gate is a joke... I've bought less expensive ones that actually are wayyyy better quality
DIDN'T WORK! Punched holes in our RENTED apartment wall! Took off layers off paint as well! We got these to AVOID these very things! Also a pain to install since the lip is so deep. We would of had much smaller holes/dents if we didn't use these!
I don’t know why I felt the need for these. I never had a problem with just using the original hardware, besides a little paint coming off on the pressure points. The walls have never had an issue with the pressure...until I tried these. Poked a big hole through my wall and the latch wasn’t even locking yet.
Left stain on my wall. Looks like oil from these has seeped into the painted drywall and will likely need to be repainted. They do help to hold the gates and are fairly sturdy, but ultimately wish I never bought them and will be more pain that it’s worth
Unfortunately this product did not provide any structural support for our baby gate being pushed over, and even took paint off of our walls after removal (which hadn’t happened with just the baby gate itself).
When I put the baby gate in my cart, Amazon "suggested" I needed to add these wall cups to protect my wall. I didn't know that my baby gate already comes with a similar item in the box. I returned them and Amazon gave me full "credit", but I had to take them across town to the UPS Store to have them shipped back.
