I have serious safety concerns with this product. After using this product only twice my child has nearly twisted his ankle or broken his foot several times as his feet get stuck underneath the vehicle when trying to "peddle" or push it along with his feet. This car is NOT the same product we grew up using when we were kids. It appears much narrower, the instructions did not match the product, and the front wheels are poorly designed to sit inside of the car where your child's feet are. The sad thing is my child is constantly getting out of the car and pushing the front wheels outside of the car to get back inside comfortably and try and use it. This product should be fun for a toddler, not frustrating, and instead of fun it causes near-injuries and numerous tantrums. I thought my child just needed to "learn" how to push or get used to it but it keeps happening to the point where I don't think it's a safe product.
We gifted this to our two year old son and from his first ride to his last yesterday, the car has fallen over with him inside. At first we thought it was just unstable when the floorboard was removed and that if we kept that in, it would be harder to topple over, but no. Our son would topple over in it at least once every play session. We took it away for a while but when he found it a couple weeks ago, we allowed him to play with it again, under close supervision. Yesterday, it took a dangerous turn as this time, he hurt himself. Our TWO year old shattered his front tooth due to this badly designed car!
We only bought it out of nostalgia since his father had one as a child and loved it for years, but attested that his car never toppled over like this one. Don’t waste your money on something that will hurt your child. I can’t believe our baby will be gap toothed and maybe have a speech impediment because a badly designed gift from his parents caused him such damage.
