Need better alarm setting information

Over all this is a good alarm clock. I really didn’t care about it having a radio, just wanted a good alarm clock. Which brings me to my title comment. There isn’t clear written instructions about setting the sound(Beep) alarm rather than radio. Also that the beep starts at a very low tone and gradually gets louder. Which is fine, if you know that’s how the alarm operates.

My previous radio alarm clock had the digital display going out on it, so I decided to find a new one, ran across this one on Amazon. I was looking for something a bit more this time around, meaning one with a BlueTooth speaker I could pair my phone to.

When I got this one, I was pleasantly surprised that it even had a digital FM station selector (my last one using a dial & sliding bar to show the station) and picked up stations better, but no AM stations like my old one (which didn't really matter, the only radio station I ever listen to is KBER 101 anyways).

I will point out that the quality of the sound through BlueTooth was less than that of what I was getting over the radio, but this isn't why I docked a star on the rating of this device. The reason why I'm not giving 5 stars to this device is because the auxiliary cable input on the device was already dead when I got it, so while this is a function I "might" have used, I never really got the chance to use it & won't have the option to use it in the future... I didn't see the busted auxiliary input as enough of a reason to file for a return, but I did know I would be giving a lower score in my review because I lost one of the functions I should have had on this device that was paid for when I purchased it.

One other note, the device uses button batteries (commonly referred to as 2032 batteries, usually trailing 2 letters) to keep it's settings during a power failure. These batteries can be harder to find (depending on the common stores you go to), but I've been buying CR2032 batteries in a 12-pack at Sam's Club, so you can find them if you know where to look. Also note that the letters really aren't the important part of the battery, provided the model number ends in 2032, it should still work in this device.

Also note that the USB connection is NOT fast charging on Smartphones, but still serves it's purpose while you're sleeping.

UPDATE: I noticed later that the alarm modes (both the buzzer & radio alarms) don't come on at full volume right off the bat, but increase over time, reaching its peak 1 minute after it starts. This is better than getting woken with a sudden blast of loud volume, just note that I haven't actually seen a separate volume control for the alarms, so it doesn't appear that the max volume can actually be adjusted.

I wanted this for my office. Works great paired it to my iPhone once and it automatically finds it every day without doing anything. Volume gets really quite which I wanted since it’s in my office and I want it so just I can hear it.

You have to reset the time for sleep mode EVERY TIME you use it!! It doesn't save the time you put in. This clock radio is nice, I love the alarm setting for Monday-Friday-too bad I can't set it and forget it for Sunday also. I like the dimmer switch for the numbers so I can sleep better. Charging my phone easy too. BUT-it is VERY complicated to figure out HOW to set all this stuff. I just pray and hope I never have to do it again!!!

I absolute love this clock radio. I wanted one that would allow me to dim the display as to not create much light at night, and this one really dims low! it is super easy to set up - just plug in and it automatically sets to the correct time for your zone. it is absolutely not complicated at all. My one tiny complaint is that the radio reception is tricky, but I attribute that to the room/location where I have it placed, not the radio itself. So glad I found this!

When my clock recently stopped working, I chose this one from Emerson as a replacement. Great choice! First, it's compact, easy to read, and very user friendly. Since I wear glasses for distance, a reasonably bright display in a light color works overnight. This display is perfect for me. If you need more light if you have to get up at night, there's an easy to find/feel button to turn on the bright night light. The radio works well with the antenna in the power cord. Sound is good, and you can listen to a Bluetooth device, like a phone, through the clock's speaker. Or, you can hook up a device by auxiliary connection. It has 2 separate alarms, which can wake you by alarm or music, which gradually increases in volume. Shutting off the alarm is easy with easy to feel buttons. Honestly, this clock radio is perfect for me with more than enough features. Definitely worth it and recommended!

I love the display on this clock radio. The directions for setting alarms is a bit complicated but once you learn the process it’s ok. The radio is acceptable. Don’t expect surround sound out of a 6 inch long box. The night light is easy to turn on and off. Also if Congress does make DST permanent there is a way to disable that feature. You just have to be willing to keep emailing EMERSON until they tell you because it is not in the directions. Another nice but hardly noticeable feature is that the antenna for the radio is somehow part of the electrical cord so no messing with another wire is necessary. Can’t advise about the radio because we only turned it on to make sure it worked. It did automatically set itself when we plugged it in but it was a few minutes fast. You can manually set the time, date and year if you are able to read an encyclopedia. I can’t speak to how well the alarm works yet as we have not used it. The display is as I said great and a nice shade of aqua which can be easily dimmed…much better than red, green or white.

My previous Clock radio goes back to the early 1990s and it has a CD player. It works fine but since it’s a analog dial, the radio station slip a bit but that was then this is now 2023. I’ve been shopping around for a clock radio over the past 18 months and I’ve been returning them, probably a total of five at this point. I stopped looking and then I started looking again after the holidays. Then I saw this Emerson and obviously I was very skeptical due to my past bad luck…but I like what I read and the reviews were mostly great. What I found blew me away! The clock is very easy to figure out and it’s all up to modern technology. Thank God for digital tuners :-) all in all, it sounds great the alarm works perfectly and the dimmer is perfect I cannot say anything negative about this clock radio, I love the Bluetooth feature and I could charge my iPhone and there’s even an Aux cable input :-)
