Okay, I have just finished the full bottle and I can confidently say it didn’t do much for me.
Pros: Did not break me out. I usually break out when I try new products (both purge breakouts and bad reaction breakouts), but this serum did not. The smell is very light and doesn’t bother me at all. Smells a bit like glycerin. The serum absorbs well and fairly quick, and it also leaves my skin feeling moisturized. The price is fairly cheap in comparison to other high-end brands, but I don’t think I would purchase again since it didn’t do much to change my skin.
Cons: I ordered this product with the assumption that it would fade dark spots, even just a little. I don’t see any noticeable difference. I’ve been using the serum for 8 weeks and I have just finished the bottle, but if I compare pictures I took from the past to now, there is barely a difference. The contents oxidize quickly. By the third week, the white-milky serum started turning off white. By the time I was done, it was pale yellow. I kept it in the fridge just to preserve the active ingredients a little longer and I always closed it right. I guess it can’t be helped when you open the bottle every time you use it. I wish they had a pump bottle option, so that it never has to be opened.
Overall, if you need a cheap alternative to vitamin c and just need that little extra push of moisture, go for it. If you want to fade dark spots and hyperpigmentation, I recommend finding a different product.
I’ve been using the Skinceuticals CE Ferulic & decided to try something cheaper. I do think Skinceuticals works, it’s just SO expensive. After using this for a week, I broke out unlike anything I have EVER seen before. I literally went from 1-2 zits here and there to about 20 on my face. It was so bad, even my mom was concerned when I went to visit her. She thought they were HIVES! After about 2 weeks of using the product and continually getting worse (because sometimes it takes time for skin to adjust), I stopped using it. It took about 2 weeks for my skin to clear up. I tried it one more time to see if it truly was the product, and the acne came back in full force about 2 days later. No thanks! Putting this in the trash where it belongs.
I have eczema on my face and my eyes. I can’t use so many skincare products and it breaks my heart. Finding a good skincare regiment is often difficult for me. I found this and decided I’d give it a whirl because what works for some with sensitive skin/eczema doesn’t work for everyone.
On the parts of my face where there isn’t eczema, it does make my face glow. The sensitive areas I noticed made my face inflamed when used over my layer of moisturizer; I may have used too much at once. However, I started mixing 2 drops in my moisturizer (Clinique), and that has treated me much better!! I’ll eventually work myself up to more, but for now I’ll stick with 2 drops. I can’t say I’ve noticed a change in my skin tone... but I can only hope over time it’ll smooth out the redness.
Wanted to leave this review because no one ever has any skincare reviews for people who suffer like me, just “sensitive” skin without any specifications.
I really love this serum. I stopped using it for a few months and I really missed it. I just started using it again and I don't why I ever stopped using it. My skin is brighter and smoother. Thank you!
Literally no skin care product has done for me what this vitamin c has. I have naturally clear skin however suffer from fullness and light hyperpigmentation. I’ve searched far and wide for something to give my skin consistent radiance and lighten the dark spots, and for only $17 this has exceeded my expectations amazingly!! I’ve noticed generally Korean (and non-Western in general) skincare gives you much better results and much quicker. After three months I feel like I have a completely new skin palette, and I get compliments on my bright skin everyday!! For reference, I am Pakistani and have a lighter olive skin tone and this has completely erased the hyperpigmentation us south asian girls know too well. If you want a vitamin c, you need this. The price, quantity, smell, effectiveness, everything - unmatched. Get yourself one now!!
I have been using this for a few months, and I’m very impressed. I have very sensitive skin, which tends towards being somehow both oily and dry, as well as acne-prone, even at age 30. My skin’s texture has not been great since I flagrantly neglected wearing sunscreen daily in my 20s.
Upon application this lightly scented serum goes on feeling watery and absorbs into the skin quickly, leaving a silken feel. It took a couple of months for a noticeable difference to manifest, but recently friends who haven’t seen me often have been asking if I had work done. No joke. It really looks like I’ve dropped lots of money on medical treatments. My skin is dewy, bright, and soft. My fine lines have softened and my complexion is much more even.
My one complaint about it would be that it absorbs almost too quickly, but I add a bit of pure vitamin e oil to the bottle and give it a shake before each application, and that has only enhanced this serum’s amazing properties. I use it after my homemade rose water tonic, but before my moisturizer (the Seoul Ceuticals snail mucin cream, which is also great) and Neutrogena anti-aging sunscreen. The dewy effect persists even through the moisturizer and sunscreen, which is fairly heavy. Less is more with this - too many other products used may interfere with its efficacy. Keep it simple, keep using this, and your skin will thank you.
I have only had to reorder the bottle once in a six month period. A little goes a long way.
I did not have high hopes for this product because 1. It seemed kinda sketch, don't really trust amazon with skincare 2. My sister said no. Okay but moving on, i use this before my moisturizer and its so good. Even though its not the best moisturizer its still soooo good! I'm almost positive that it is doing my acne scars some good. The hyperpigmentation is lessened so that's a plus! I would def order again simply bc its that good and its like the only serum that doesn't break me out. If you're reading this, take my word because I don't trust amazon reviews either. That's why im writing this one so you know this serum thingy is not a scam. Okay now I'm making it sound too sketchy. But 10/10 Also it smells citrusy and I like that too. :)
I have lupus with roscea and my skin is extremely sensitive so I am abundantly cautious what I put on my skin. After 1 week of use my skin looks so much better. I use this as my base for Gua Sha it is incredible.
Waste of money... I have been using this for 2-3 weeks and sadly I’m calling it a loss and throwing it in the garbage. There has been no improvement in my melasma, my skin is dryer than ever (the level of dryness on my nose is just blasphemy), and it makes me breakout (I am not acne prone in the slightest). After applying it this morning I now have a red dot in the middle of my face that appeared throughout the day - kind of like a cherry angioma but flat and beneath the surface (not a pimple). What the hell?
Recently reordered my second bottle. Noticed the difference immediately when I wasn't using it. My skin looked dull and just not overall as bright. I had some acne scars that went away within 2 weeks of daily use. Once in the AM and once in the PM. The smell is very citrus as one would expect a Vit C serum to be but it doesn't take away from the magic of the product!
