My dog likes this chew toy but after a couple of vet visits, I have decided to no longer get the bullibone as it is not a safe chew toy for dogs.
She enjoyed chewing on these toys and the shape allowed her to hold it comfortably. However, I started noticing that she would stop eating, act lethargic, and then eventually throw up big, hard hairballs. After a couple of vet visits, thorough examination of the hairballs, extreme home cleaning, and process of elimination, I realized that she was ingesting very small pieces of the toy (it breaks off very easily) and food and fibers would get caught on the pieces of the toy in her stomach. It would become too large for her to pass in her poop, so the only way it would come out was via vomit.
Once I stopped giving her this toy, every single hairball issue stopped completely. I feel very fortunate that she did not get sicker. Do NOT recommend this toy.
Our little corgi-chihuahua mix loves to chew bones! She can totally eat a rawhide bone in one day, leaving slimy little pieces around the house, and I’ve worried about her choking on them. These bones last at least a few weeks for her, which is amazing because she holds the bone with her little paws and chews for at least a couple hours every morning. After she has her breakfast, this is the first thing she wants Daddy to give her!
I have 3 little dogs and they all have to have their own bully bone. They luv the peanut butter ones and especially the bacon bone. They chew them all the way down which takes months till the bone is small enough to discard for a new one. I keep bully bones different flavors so their never without their pass time. Good for their dental too per my vet
