Worked so well yesterday, easy to put together, the pneumatic\hydraulic function worked super well, went up, went down very smoothly, seat was pretty comfortable, wobbled but never fell over. Used it to sit on and lean on for about 9 or 10 hours of work.
Today, about half way through my desk. it just started sinking. I looked underneath to see if any of the buttons to adjust it were stuck, didn't look like it. I noticed that the plastic cap that covers the piston got detached. I sat on it again after rasiing it, and it started to sink down slowly as if i had the buttons depressed (did not). when i raised it to lean on it, if i leaned on it at a certain angle it would be fine, but most times it just started sinking right away.
Pretty much a bust\return if i can't figure out why it's no longer staying up. Pretty disappointing.
A literal pain in the but. Forget this product unless you like having your sacrum jamming your spine. This seat doesn't have enough cushioning around the edges. I almost always feel as if I'm sitting on the plastic edge, and not on the cushion.
I struggled a bit with the assembly, but once everything snapped properly into place the chair seems to work fairly well for leaning while standing. The gas spring is very firm and I found I had to put my chest against the seat and press my full weight on it to lower it to a usable height. Will update my review later if anything changes!
I purchased this to use with my standing desk but it is very flimsy, difficult to move up and down, and is not the least bit sturdy. I have used wobble stools that were much easier to balance on and work from.
I don't like writing bad reviews, but I feel that I need to warn people. I have purchased a similar stool and love it so much that I wanted another. The Uncaged has a black base, and looks to be identical to the one I have, so I ordered it. It is NOT the same. First, the foam on the seat is terrible. When you sit on it, the "premium" foam immediately compresses (offering no actual support) and you can feel the bumpy underside. VERY uncomfortable. The upholstery on the seat cover is pleated and looks like an amateur did the work. If you want one of these seats, try this one. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GVVQNL6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The linked stool is almost identical from the pole downward, but the seat itself is very high quality, supportive foam, and professional cover. It even has a little recess along the bottom of the seat so your fingers have something to grab when moving the seat - something the Uncaged product does NOT have.
Tread lightly when thinking about purchasing this chair.
The leather seat top is too slippery so using it as a leaning stool, which is its main purpose, becomes very difficult. The seat top constantly detaches from the post AND the plastic slip covering the adjustable post gets hung up on one of the post grooves which prevents you from lowering the height.
and worse yet, if you want to return it you'll be unable to remove the post from the base. Thank goodness I'm a Prime member and have a no hassle return. I packed up the base in one box and the other contents in another - RETURNED the very next day.
