We use this for our 60 lb dog. We use it when we are out on our front porch and have the dog out with us. It is attached to the railing of our porch and he can be on the porch or in the front yard easily. It is long enough to give him some room to play in the yard but he can't get to the people and other dogs walking by on the sidewalk. He hasn't chewed on it so not sure how it would hold up but he pulls against it and it is strong enough to hold him. Also he gets himself tangled sometimes but the cord doesn't hurt him or snag fur.
