To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we do not use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
These vacuum seal bags are slightly thinner than the FoodSaver brand bags, but so far have been working flawlessly. They seal well and I have had no bags that have leaked. This is in contrast to a couple of FoodSaver brand bags that have lost their seal. So, I'm very happy and plan on purchasing more of the same if they continue to work this well. If not, I'll update the review. Good purchase and I definitely can recommend these.
3/3/20 I have now vacuum sealed a number of items and have had 3 seal failures. These usually occur within the hour after sealing. It has occurred with things that have a bit of sharp edges. Medium shell pasta consistently failed. Failures also occurred with dried brussel sprouts and dried broccoli. In all of these cases, I cut the bag open, placed the opened bag in a new bag and sealed the new bag. The sealing has then consistently held. So, items with abrupt corners are best placed within a storage bag, left slightly open, and then that placed in the vacuum seal bag to be vacuum sealed. I have also had sealing failures with similar items with FoodSaver bags, so this seems to be the nature of sealing bags. I am still happy with the bags and recommend them but extra care must be taken for certain dry items.
My Bride of 49 years uses these to divide and seal products for future meals. They have preserved our foods for over a year if it became a UFO (unidentified frozen object) in her freezer. They work and save us money! Enough said!
The first red flag was that the first 8" of the roll material were ruined by removing the sticker on the roll end, which also removed the bag beneath it. With that bit removed and starting from intact roll, it quickly became apparent that these were not equivalent to the OEM rolls they were meant to replace. The thickness and feel of the plastic is thinner and stiffer, and the quilting pattern on the 2nd layer was very different, which was the second red flag. The last, and most important red flag is that these bags DO NOT WORK. I was unable to get a vacuum seal that held on two ends of of any bag and heat sealing them would sometimes cut a line right through one layer of bag. I can't risk ruining 100' of food with these poorly manufactured knockoffs so I cut my losses and returned them for a refund- I'm back to the official bag rolls.
Great price, nice looking material, and packaged in small rolls that fit my Foodsaver dispenser. Unfortunately, I had to return them. They do not hold a vacuum for me. They seem to seal and vacuum just fine but after a few moments the vacuum is lost. I went back to my old bags and they still work great. I have had the same Foodsaver vacuum sealer for many years and it works with all brands of bags and rolls that I have purchased. This is the first failure that I have encountered. The material looks just fine but, for some reason, they do not hold a vacuum.
I use these with my Food Saver vacuum machine, priceless during the pandemic. Wish brand is a knock-off brand but Food Saver deserves to get copied when they charge their customers such ridiculous prices for support product. Does Wish brand perform exactly like the original product? No, but that would be an unreasonable expectation. It is a pretty good second choice. You will save enough to afford more of those tasty victuals you’re trying to preserve. Hint: to improve performance check for sharp bones and file them down or pad with clean paper towel before vacuuming. It will help prevent leaks. Also, be sure to leave enough headspace at end of your self-made vac bags. Use a “diaper”—-a clean wad of paper towel inserted at top inside of bag near suction channel to stop moisture from entering bag during suction process. It won’t hurt the food and will help sop up blood and juices. Always select appropriate moist or dry settings and use the highest suction power setting. Wish bags do suck, but in a good way!
These vacuum sealer bags are 90% the same as the name brand bags as far as I’m concerned, but at a lower price. If they were closer in price to the name brand, I would go with the name brand. The white strip that the name brand bags has is missing on the bags, but you can still write on the bags.
One side of the bags are corrugated and one side is smooth. I had a little trouble getting the machine to pull a suction because these bags appear to be slightly thinner mils so they can get folds that cause poor suction. Sometimes required two tries. Only one time did I have to cut off about 1/4” to try it again and got a good seal.
I will buy these bags again unless I discover more problems, but at this juncture they fully meet my needs.
These bags are good quality, at a reduced price from the brand name. They are sturdy, seal well, just like the brand name. This is a reorder for us because they're a reliable company, they ship them to us immediately and the bags are the best quality.
This product works just as good as the freezer rolls sold by the name brand companies. My only complaint is that there is no white strip somewhere to write what you put in it. But, you can still write on the plastic so, that is not a big deal. Buying it here on Amazon was cheaper than going to the store. It took about 2 weeks to get my product. Functionally, this product works perfectly and now I shouldn't need to buy more for a while.
