I haven’t noticed any less pain yet I do like being able to raise my feet. I still need to get use to it, getting my chair with the base positioned to get closer to my desk. If I can’t get the chair base and the footrest figured out the footrest will cause back pain from having to lean forward to get any work done. I do like that it tilts so you don’t have to adjust the height with a lever or other means, you can have it flat yet raised or tilt to an angle you need with just your feet. I can’t say I would definitely recommend this item as it may work well for some but not for others. It does seem well made.
I love this workstation as its a beast and can handle a lot. I installed a dual monitor stand on this and it works like a charm. Would be nice if this had an electric motor to raise and lower as it can be a bit heavy to raise. U can adjust the screw on the back for tension but keep in mind the more tension the harder to raise, and less tension means u better hold the workstation really good when ur lowering it.
Great mat for standing at your desk, in your kitchen or while you're working out. I've also used it in the back of my hatchback... while I take a nap. Material is good and solid but with enough give to please the feet (or back).
I would give it 5 stars except I have two minor issues. First, it seems a little short. When I'm preparing food in the kitchen or standing at my tall desk, I tend to move around a little. The mat feels just a tad too confining.
Rachael Ray Anti-Fatigue Kitchen Mat, Black
is a little longer, although it may not fit under your desk.
Second, it is fairly expensive. I can get a pad from a local hardware store for a lot less. However, the Startech pad may (and probably will) hold up a lot longer... and it feels better. I think it is guaranteed for a year or two but really, who is going to bother shipping it back if it starts falling apart? I certainly won't.
Despite my reservations, and especially if cost isn't much of an issue, it seems like a great multi-purpose mat.
The Startech Anti-Fatigue Mat has done a surprisingly efficient job of relieving fatigue in my feet and legs as I stand at my desk. If I have any criticism, it is that it was a bit large for my immediate desk space but that is an issue of location and may not apply to today''s office work spaces. My office space is set up very old school so having both the mat and the chair is a competition for space. However, I have come to accommodate the mat by pushing my swivel chair away. Being able to stand on this mat has really helped my lower back. Due to a car wreck injury, there comes that point where I must stand up due to the pain of sitting for extended periods of time. The Startech Anti-fatigue Mat is exactly what I have needed for better relief. I know it wasn't necessarily designed for people like me but if you have a bad back and are an office worker, give this standing anti-fatigue mat a try.
