I used the product once and noticed a funny smell, sort of like Play-Doh. I looked for an expiration date on the tub, but didn't find one. The only thing I found was one of those tear off coupons to use on your next purchase. The coupon expired in 2018 and I wish I would have kept it as proof. I ended up throwing the product away.
I used this twice. It doesn't really emulsify like most other cleansing balms I've used. My face still felt oily after cleansing with face wash and ultimately broke me out and compromised my skin barrier. I am still working on getting my skin back on track.
While I like how this Palmer's coconut facial oil gives my complexion a dewy glow, it really doesn't absorb very well into my skin and even clogged my pores making me break out a little. I don't usually have this problem with regular coconut oil, so it must be the combination of other ingredients in this. I've tried to lower the amount that I use and for some reason even after hours of applying the oil to my skin, my face still feels greasy. I really wanted this one to work out for my skin, but unfortunately it didn't.
I’m not sure how I feel about this yet. The main ingredient is coconut oil, however coconut oil clogs pores. Also, it has synthetic fragrance which is an irritant to the skin. I use this more to help breakdown my makeup before washing my face. So, I will put it on, leave it on for a few minutes to break down makeup, then wash it off with my face wash. For that purpose, I do like it, although I wish it was free of synthetic fragrance. However, for the purpose of applying it and leaving it on – I do not feel comfortable with that as coconut oil is known to clog pores and added fragrance is an irritant.
