To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we do not use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Overall, they were what I expected. The quality wasn't 5 star given the price, as there were some gaps between the rows of material used to weave. I ordered a larger version as well, and it looks good on the counter holding bread, bagels, etc that end up all over the counter. I actually got the wrong size initially, and then when I got the replacement I got 4 instead of 2. So I had to return the extras, but the replacement process was smooth.
These are attractive baskets, to be sure. But for anyone buying them, I’d say don’t expect perfection. There are flaws, but where I’m going to put them, they won’t be really noticeable. Some of the workmanship is a bit iffy, like whoever was working on these baskets could have been anxious to punch out and go home. But I’m definitely keeping them, as I still like them. And they are a little flashier than just a brown wicker basket, which does give them more interest. Would I still buy them, knowing what I now know? My answer would be... yes.
I wanted to keep these because they are the perfect size and shape for my needs. I even kept them for a week with tags on, hoping they'd magically self repair while I slept. But every day I got up and saw that they were still a piece of crap. By that, I mean that the bottoms are poorly woven. The seagrass in the bottom of each basket I received is very poorly woven (although the sides seem to be woven correctly), so there are actually gaps in the bottom of the brand new baskets that could only get worse over time. Sending these back.
