To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we do not use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I purchased this deodorant for my very disabled son who has very sensitive skin and was apparently recommended by dermatologists. Unfortunately, it reacted badly on my son and the deodorant was crumbly for lack of a better word. This may be an issue with him only. All anyone can do is try it and see how it works.
Because of skin sensitivity, my dermatologist recommended this as an aluminum free anti-persperent. The product is fine, but the roll up gel feature works 50% of the time. This is the first time I've ordered it on Amazon, but I still got the same problem that I've had when I've ordered it elsewhere. It's a gel. You turn the thing and it's supposed to come up through the little holes.I purchased a 2 pack. One works ok. The other one....the antipersperant does not come trhrough the holes. It gets all mushed up. I have to remove the top and dig out the antipersperant with my fingers. On the review....the ask about "warmth." I don't know what that means, so I gave it a 3. Basically, it's a 5 star product with a 1 star design.
I recently discovered I have contact dermatitis for balsam of Peru and Fragrance. It has been quite a task overhauling practically every lotion, soap, hair product, laundry detergent, dish detergent, toothpaste, etc. And of course deodorant. I thought I'd try this, and didn't mind paying that much if it worked. Unfortunately it doesn't do much for me.
I don't sweat much under my arms and don't live in a particularly warm climate, but for some reason, for me this deodorant does practically nothing. And what it does do, doesn't last very long. So back to the drawing board for me on deodorant (or rather back to the list of things that are confirmed to not have balsam of Peru or fragrance).
I ordered this because I've been having issues with drugstore deodorant causing irritation and a rash like reaction. I did research and this came highly recommend. I had clean, clear armpits and after using a LITTLE bit for two days- I have a decent sized rash under my left arm. Now, it could just be my skin and it probably is, but if you know you have issues- be wary. I wish I could try and return. Also, I sweat through my shirt and sweater within minutes. I'm at a loss as what to do for deodorant. =[
As antiperspirant, it works great. No sweat, no odor. To keep it from clumping and staining my clothes, I apply a thin layer, then wipe off the excess with a tissue. Even this minimal application does a great job minimizing sweat, and no stink to complain of, despite my being a greasy, sweaty, hairy auto mechanic.
However, I bought this explicitly because it popped up as the second search result for "hypo-allergenic deodorant," yet this causes me to break out into an obnoxious rash after 2-3 days use. I must just be allergic to antiperspirant. I would settle for just a decent deodorant that wouldn't cause me to break out.
For something like this, especially after trying numerous different brands that did not help my burning & itching armpits, I waited a couple of weeks before posting a review. I had such high hopes after the first few days of relief from irritation, plus it seemed to work well for B.O. Not 24-hour odor protection, but pretty much most of the day. As for the relief from irritation, that lasted about a week before I could feel it coming back. Everyone's body reacts differently, but unfortunately for me, the search will continue for armpit irritation relief in my older years. (59)
This smells great, has no problems with sensitive skin, and is a good value. I was linked to this product as the #2 product for men with hyperhidrosis. The first was extremely expensive so we went with this one. It works even less well on prevention of sweat than our basics we had tried in the past from local stores: Mitchum, Arm and Hammer, and Gillett. We will likely go with either the more costly stuff or talk to our doctor about male hyperhidrosis.
It seems pretty basic, no scent and stuff but I was surprised at the amount of product inside the container, regular size deodorant but with almost no gel inside, the gel also hardens pretty easy around the head of the container
