This lap desk was exactly what I needed! I decided to move my PC off my desk and into my living room and hook it up to my big screen TV. I sit in a recliner chair, so the challenge was then finding a proper way to place and use my mouse and keyboard.

I tried using some random flat objects from around the house, nothing really worked well or was awkward or uncomfortable. I searched Amazon for a lap desk and most seemed either too small (even the "large" ones, or either had or lacked features I didn't want or need. Example, many had built in wrist cushion, but I use my own and sometimes prefer not to use it. Some didn't have bottom padding, etc.

This lap desk is absolutely perfect for my needs. It is large, but not too much, it fits my space perfectly. It is big enough to support my keyboard, wrist pad, mouse and large mousepad just right. It also rests right between the two armrests of my recliner chair.

It has the perfect padding on the bottom, it's comfortable, but not too soft, a nice firm cushioning. I have used it for hours on end with no discomfort or fatigue. Also has a small lip at the bottom of the surface area, so you can use at an angle without having your laptop/keyboard/mouse fall off. I also like the little holder slit near the top of the surface area, fits phone or other small items for convenience.

Not cheap material either, very light but sturdy, quality wood and cushion material. Would highly recommend.

This is an excellent lap desk overall. I have been using it constantly since I received it, and definitely think it's worth the high-ish cost.

The bamboo seems to be of pretty decent quality, and it actually came sealed (which has not always been the case for other bamboo items I've purchased). The surface is smooth but slightly textured due to the grain of the wood; there is one small deeper almost-crack (see picture), but quite frankly I can barely feel it, and I am normally very sensitive to texture issues. It's the kind of thing you could probably fix yourself if it bothers you too much. I have had zero issues using an optical mouse on it without a mouse pad. I have noticed zero issues with my laptop getting warm when it's on the lap desk.

Size-wise, I can comfortably fit my 14" laptop with plenty of room to use my mouse when I have it scooted to the side (see picture to see exactly how I use it). There is a little wedge on the underside if you want to change the angle, although I haven't felt the need to use that yet. The small block that keeps your laptop from sliding off is quite square, so it's not very comfortable to have your wrist resting on. I use it at an angle where I basically bypass it, but you will need to figure out a mitigating solution that works for you. The surface also is not super grippy, so be careful about things without rubber feet like pens or mice, as they tend to take a journey if you shift too suddenly! The little slot for a pen and your phone works pretty OK, but don't count on it too heavily if you're moving your lap desk around.

All in all, definitely worth a buy if you're looking for a solid lap desk that will allow your device room to ventilate and give room for mouse movement.

As a disabled university student who does a lot of studying while lying down, this lap desk has made my life so much easier. Between the rest on the bottom and the corner strap on the top it holds even massive textbooks in place hands-free, the memory foam cushion is super comfortable on my legs, and I love that part of the cushion can fold out into a stand with adjustable height to give it a slanted surface for easier reading. The bamboo surface is great for writing on, too, though the slot for a phone/tablet gets in the way a little bit. For those who are buying it as a laptop table: I got the smallest size, and my laptop is pretty big, but it fits on it fine.

This thing is really well made. I've been using this lap desk for my computer every day, 8+ hours a day, for almost 3 years now, and it feel like it's in just as good shape as the day I received it. There's a little wall thing at the front of the desk that keeps things from sliding off -- I do wish it were not quite as tall, just measured it, it's about 5/8" tall, which doesn't sound like much but my computer is much much thinner than that so it gets in the way of my wrists sometimes. The wall thing also feels very sturdy and well-made, it is just not going anywhere. I like that the cushion underneath has a well-defined shape, so it's easy to get the whole thing to be level if it's on a level surface, or you can flip out the middle bit to give the whole thing a slope I guess but I haven't ever really used it that way.

This type of product isn't a necessity, but more of a quality of life purchase. I don't think everyone needs something like this, but here's some thoughts I can share if you're thinking about this type of product.

I've bought two of this specific lap desk. Before I bought the first one, I had a cheap plastic lap desk with beanbag padding. A year of having it, the padding on the bottom was flat in places and it was impossible to keep it well distributed. It had a lip to hold the laptop edge, but macbooks slid over it's curved edges sometimes at odd angles. Overall I got my use out of that and enjoyed using it at first when it was fresh and I could work from any room in the house. I work from home via internet.

So I bought this bamboo lap desk to replace that old beat up one in December of 2019. I moved the following February and lost my first one and bought a second one because I liked it.

The bamboo surface is a bit roughed out. It's not smooth, but it's not scratchy. It's been sanded to some degree. The friction from the roughness helps a lot with keeping laptops still. I liked this compared to my first lap desk which had a slippery top. It was fine for laptops with rubber feet, but not macbooks.

The ledge thing that prevents the laptop from sliding in towards you is great on this. It's got squared edges, so the laptop can't wedge up and slide forward.

The bottom is foam. It's comfortable. I don't know what the foam situation looks like on the inside, I'll provide an update next year.

The bottom pull out part makes this very easy to use while sitting on a floor. It adds stability when sitting with crossed legs for example. It's just a flap with foam in it.

One thing I don't like is that the foam under the tablet/pencil holder is hallowed out. Seems like they might bind the foam to the bamboo in manufacturing before they cut out the hole for the plastic insert. Instead of just cutting the bamboo the foam under it is cut. This does affect front right hand foam's structural integrity. I imagine if there's any problems, that area would be the first place problems arise.

Overall, this was a good purchase in my opinion. It just depends on if you would actually use it.

This is a gorgeous 24" laptop desk in bamboo wood. It fits comfortably on different sized adults laps even though it was bought for one person, we all decided to try it out. Beautifully made and lightweight. It won't tire on your legs. It rests nicely on the arm of the chair too. The extra features of the phone holder, pen holder and bar to keep laptop in place are well thought out features. It works if you turn it around and need the band to hold something in place too. We couldn't be happier with this purchase.
