It lasted a few times during the hot days so far, but after 3 or 4 times using it the wire is popping out so the fabric ripped. I have a new honda accord with leather so i'm afraid it'll puncture the leather because it store it on the back seat. So, I have to stop using it and find something else.
I was expecting something with a little thicker material and more custom fit to my truck. I live in Phoenix, AZ so it gets pretty hot here, and a good sunshade can really make a difference. I'm not sure that this will make enough of a difference when the inside temp of the truck is 140+ degrees in July/August.
I had sunshade for a previous car that set the gold standard for me. It was made with some type of a covered cardboard and it was custom fit to the windshield and provided maximum coverage. Best sunshade I ever had.
I think I'll try this one out this summer and see how it does but I don't have high expectations. It folds up easy enough and goes into the storage bag as advertised.
Initially I couldn’t find a sizing guide and ordered an XL for my car. After ordering I found a sizing guide which called for a standard for my car. I sent the first one back as soon as it arrived and when the standard came and I tried it I was sorry I had sent the first one back but kept this one because at the time we were in COVID lockdown and I needed something to protect my car. It works somewhat if I can get it placed just right so it doesn’t slide down. The visors barely catch the floppy material portion of the shade. I think with the correct size it would be amazing.
I purchased the XXL which is the listed size for the I-Pace and it does not fit. The shade is too short by a few inches, I would guess if it were 3" longer then it would fit ok. My car has a sloping windshield so the shade keeps falling down. It is too short to reach the visors so even folding them down does not reach the shade. Very hard to use since I basically need to get the perfect balance for it to stay up, any slight movement and it falls. The company really needs to test fit their shade if they are going to list it in their chart, not just assume it will fit.
Seems like an okay made product, and it folds very small. The silver side is not really that reflective like other shades I have used in the past, I would say its more of a grey.
I thought it was a simple purchase. Selected the size for my vehicle. But this one is simple. Very thin and light and silver on one side. Black on the other. Two steel hoops on each side. When you try to fold them up, it never goes back into the bag again... when you finally do get it folded up and lay it on the back seat it pops open. Wouldn't recommend this product - however I will state plainly. It's inexpensive. Works like a champ up in the window. Just not like what I wanted which is a folding one that is simpler to setup and take down to store.
Good: blocks the sun, stays in place without visors, easy to install and remove, size chart was accurate for my car.
Bad: Stitching was coming apart when I took it out of the box and is getting worse. I try not to fold it up since that will only accelerate wear, but it's big and ungainly unfolded. Thin material provides no padding for the metal hoops inside, so it's definitely possible to damage your car.
Fundamentally, this shade does its job, but it's falling apart and I'll probably need to replace it in a few months. I'll look for a similar design from a manufacturer with better quality. Better stitching would make this a 4 and thicker material or just a little padding around the hoops would make it a 5.
No. First smaller one blew out the window, forever lost. Larger shade cracked the rear view mount of the mirror, I reckon, ...when I came back windshield was cracked and mirror looked torn off. I still used it until the wire popped halfway out of the fabric seam. My Sea Tech shade lasted 7 years.
Customer service for this A1 shade went above and beyond to help me. But their product is not a good fit for me, is all. This A1 shade did keep wee dog Brie and I very cool and protected us wonderfully from the Florida sun. Thank you for that. Thank you for you and your time.
I ordered the size recommended for my car and it's too big. It doesn't stay up very well at all. The questions for this reviewed asked about the "suction power", I'm not sure what exactly they're referring to but I can tell you, this thing doesn't have any! Another selling point for me was its supposedly easy to fold but I have to fight with it every time to fold it. I eventually can get this in my windshield enough to serve it's purpose but I would not buy this again.
I had read that the sizes weren’t correct in some reviews. In others I read that they were correct. I chanced it and ordered a large per their chart. It’s too small. It definitely doesn’t stay up by itself (with the two rings side by side, there’s still extra space so they can’t support themselves. And even using my visors for support still results in sun being let in. If it was the right size, I’d probably like it.
