The XL was the perfect size for my car, just as they said. I blocks the entire windshield & even completely behind the rear view mirror. I love how it blocks all of the sun. Living in Texas, this is a must! But the quality isn't as great as I'd like. Mine was delivered June 30th & I have used it almost every day. I noticed today when I was putting it in my windshield that it is already coming apart & the wire is exposed. I will try to glue it or something but it shouldn't be coming apart after 2 weeks. Very disappointed.
Seller was fine. Product was there faster than delivery estimate. Hoowever, I'm OCD and just not thrilled with the actual product, and the way it fits in a '16 Ford F250. Not sure how long it took them to set up the Screen in the product photo. When I'm parking my vehicle, I don't want to spend more than 30 seconds setting up my shade. Reality ..., it's a Generic sun shade. The height & width are adequate, but it doesn't really "fit" my truck. It looks like a mess, (especially from the outside) unless I spend several minutes getting perfectly positioned.
The material is very thin, and the silvery material isn't that great of a reflector of the sun. Also, shade needs a notch in the center to accomodate the rearview mirror. In my truck the mirror mount is large, so the shade's fabric bunches up in the middle, deformings the ellastic hoops and makes things that much harder to install.
I packed it up meatly, and put the Shade in the Salvation Army Box and ordered "The Original Windshield Sun Shade." 2X more $$, but specifically designed for my truck.
I have a ‘99 Durango and the medium size fits my windshield well.
At first I was afraid this wouldn’t work so well as the shade gets very hot, very quickly, but a few weeks of use later and I’ve noticed a significant improvement.
I like that each wire frame is able to be tucked into the corner and top of the windshield to hold position easier, the extra material ensures the entire windshield is covered. The only problem, is that three days after owning it, one of the side stitches came undone. It’s not a major functional issue, as it’s in the side making contact with the trim around my windshield, but it is concerning when considering longevity.
All in all, I’d say to buy one, for the summer, trust their guide, just be prepared for some quality issues. That’s the only reason I give it three stars.
It's cheap and blocks the sun however it's very thin and poorly stitched. I already have stitches breaking. Can't see this lasting more than a dozen installation and folding it back up. It will suit my needs for a coming road trip. Typically my truck rarely sits in the sun so I'll probably toss it after my trip. Medium size fully covers a Yukon/Tahoe windsheid. You have to use your sun shades to hold it in place and it's a pain to put back in the small bag. If you want a better quality shade I'd get one that just folds in half. This one fits in a small circular bag and is easy to store and use on rare occasions.
It is VERY important to understand what you or a reviewer wanted out of a product so that you can understand why reviews can vary so much for the same item.
Very much unlike ValkRaider's review and comments (https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R3JRX3HMBTT2T2/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B072FH2YT7), my complaint is that the sizing is too small for the vehicles advertised.
These are advertised as sized for a snug fit that ValkRaider disliked, but are designed to be wedged in place without the requirement for the visor to hold them in place. I ordered two of these for a Ford Focus and CLA Mercedes, and both of them are on the small side and now I find I have to lower the visors...just what I was attempting to avoid.
The quality of the shade seems good. I wish I could give 3.5 stars, but cannot give four based on the fact that it falls short of how they are sold to fit and for TWO different vehicle makes and models.
It's not easy to set in the windshield and it's not easy to fold. I confirmed the product size with my vehicle and even watched the tutorial on how to fold it, it's just inherently a difficult product to handle. Once it's in the windshield it does a nice job minimizing the solar heat gain in the car but I often prefer a hot car to dealing with setting up and folding this thing though.
Cheaply made, and didn’t fit my model car as well as promised. I had to fuss with it an unreasonable amount and close both visors to get it to stay in place and not leave huge gaps, and after all that it didn’t seem to block the heat very well. I have bought many cheap visors at the dollar store that work better than this. I returned it
I drive a 2014 Buick Encore & ordered the size per the chart. It seems to be too wide & not tall enough by a LOT. Perhaps an oval shape might fit better. This just isn't working well at all. It is easy to twist & fold to put it in the sack provided for storage.
Three week update: I was hoping to hear from the manufacturer about the poor fit but I've heard nothing. I guess I'll make do.
Needed a new sunshade. This fit my car perfectly, I did not bother with trying to tuck it as instructed in the directions. I wanted something I could put up quickly. I use my sun visors to keep in place. I am not noticing a big difference in temperature, but at least my seats are not hot. Who knows, if I did all the tucking, perhaps it would perform better. If I had to purchase again, I would.
The chart is not correct for my 10th gen Civic. It says a large would fit and technically it does fit but because it fit exactly, the rings are not compressed so it doesn't stay in place without support from the sun visors. An extra large would've been better. Too much hassle to exchange so I'll just use the visors to hold it up.
