Required for SureFeed feeder, so absolutely necessary, but way, way overpriced

I have two cats, and two SureFeed feeders. Both the my cats and I are very happy with the feeders, which have taken all the stress out of feeding times. HOWEVER, these bowls, which are the only ones which will fit the feeders, are grotesquely overpriced, and I really do resent being forced into paying this much money for them. Thus, 2 stars off the review just because of the greed involved in pricing this item.

Light weight

These bowls are very light weight for the money they cost. I would still buy them because I have a cat that gets acne on his chin with plastic bowls. The feeder is great and well thought out, but the bowls are disappointing. My cats are still adjusting to the feeder. Two of three don’t like to put their heads under the loop. I’ve backed off from the motion again and lengthened the time to close. It kept closing again as they pulled their heads out from the loop to chew the food. They found that very disconcerting.

I was surprised at the quality . While they are made for the feeder they really get dirty quick and food sticks to it. They seemed to get scratched when I washed them too and the coating came off? I’m surprised the plastic bowls seem better quality

I’ve had my surefeed microchip feeder for a few years and have loved it! I have had difficulty keeping the joint in the automatic flap clean. It appears to have grown mold between the plastic and silicone. I contacted the company and they offered to send out a new flap. 5 stars for customer service. I was also concerned about the plastic bowls harboring bacteria so was thrilled to see stainless steel available. I wish these bowls came with a divider like the plastic so I can place wet and dry in different compartments.

Eeh. The silicon/rubber peels off after time

Overpriced and the silicon/rubber part on top separates from the metal within a year. I wish one of my cats didn't need non-porous dishes to help keep her chin achne at bay. The plastic bowls are cheeper and keep up better.

I like the stainless option but I'm frustrated that the bowl that comes with the feeder is plastic, especially since the same company produces both. It feels like a grab for my money but I prefer my cats don't eat from plastic so here we are.
