My skin is normal to oily (oily in my T-zone). I am 50 years old. I used to break out when I was younger (16-40). My skin does not break out regularly anymore. I bought this product to be used in addition to my daily Tula cleanser as an exfoliator. One use of this product and I had tiny breakouts all over my forehead, and 3 deep breakouts around my nose and chin. Clearly this does not work for me. The smell is amazing. The texture was very gritty (but that's what I wanted), and my skin felt amazing immediately after washing with it. The next day though, my skin was not having it. I wish it would have worked for me. I love Palmer's brand products.
I had high hopes from this, but after using multiple times it's a no from me. The scent is odd. Not like the normal coco butter scent that I associate with these products. It has a grandma kind of perfume smell to it. When I put on my face, even without rubbing, my face instantly started burning. I do not have sensitive skin at all, it is not normal for me to have that type of reaction. I don't know if it is from the fragrance or something else.
I was expexting something else to be honest. I have dry skin and after using this product it feels softer but a the same time gets so flaky. I don't know if I'm missing a step or something but the last thing I want is a flaky face. I have to be super gentle when aplying because is kind of harsh if I press to hard o scrub to much it burns my skin.
I don't think this product is the best fit for me but maybe for other skin types will work better
The granules are kind of rough, but i dont mind it after a long day outside or when I've been sweating etc. Its not something i reach for first thing in the morning though. It does moisturize, but not enough to where I feel super hydrated. My biggest issue is the opening. It turns to open and then you squeeze it out. Almost every time some gets on the outside - as its just a hole instead of a cap. Its not sanitary that way either because anything can get on the opening/hole and, when you twist it to open the hole, anything that was touching it or on it will mix with your cleanser.
Caused breakouts on my face. Twice on my nose and one on my left cheek. Switched back to another brand I used and it went away.
I have had amazing experiences with other products by Palmer's, but this one left something to be desired. I am not hating on the brand and this by no means has turned me away from them. Their oil stuff has done wonders for my scars
I’m really frustrated! I bought this item thinking it would be great for exfoliating my skin and making it feel refreshed! One day while using it I looked at the ingredients, low and behold it contains milk! I’m allergic to milk and there wasn’t anything on the bottle that states that there is milk in it! It says coconut milk so I thought I would be fine. While I was wrong. I’m so sad that I can’t use this product anymore and it just was a waste of money.
I love the Palmer's Cocoa Butter line of products and was excited to find this one. The 'sugar' in the exfoliator felt almost sharp and irritated my face a bit. To me, the sugar felt much sharper than even walnut or corn kernel scrubs, and I am very gentle with my face/skin while using. I really wanted to like it, but won't purchase again.
The scrub is a bit too rough for my skin, it’s like it tearing it apart. The smell is okay, kinda smells like grass with a mixture of coconut. I have pretty sensitive skin, it didn’t cause me any type of reaction really, just hurt my face. I switched to a chemical exfoliant and have been absolutely loving it. But I still use this every once and a while for my neck. It wasn’t too pricey, although I could’ve gotten it cheaper from Walmart but I was too lazy so I ordered it online. I suggest this if your skin can handle it. It’s an okay product.
It's a good product, but you don't get much. Compared to buying a tub of Noxzema or St. Ives scrubs, this bottle is miniature. It's nearly impossible to get the last bit out as well. If you're looking to change facial scrubs, you'll need to buy one of these every week if you use it twice daily. It's a fairly aggressive compound for those with sensitive skin. It has a nice scent and I have always been a fan of cocoa butter and it's products, although this one doesn't leave much of an effect of moisturization or toning afterwards.
My skin isn’t sensitive at all and it isn’t made of Teflon either. I am able to use rough acids and I’m usually fine. This not only hurt my skin, but it also made me break out. I had to return it. It smells amazing and has great ingredients but the granules are larger and consistently hard on the skin even when wet.
