First off this phone is pretty good value for your money. It's cheapish (in price. Feelsnl good in hands) and it does come with a silicon case and earbuds and an adaptor for the earbuds since it doesn't have a designated headphone jack. It was a very easy switch of phones just by inserting the new sim into the phone and that was that. I saw a couple reviews stating there was malware on these phones, I have not come across any of those at all. I bet they are talking about bloatware (two totally different things.) But the bloatware ain't even that bad. A couple games and than some of their own apps. Same as any other phone company.

Now the bad....The very first one is that it says in the description that this phone is Android 9 (Pie) ready. Well my phone is still on oreo and pie has been out for some time now. So no idea what the holdup is. Two: battery life absolutely stinks! If you start playing a game, kiss your hand and battery goodbye. This phone gets hot as hell while playing any "demanding" game like PubG or COD mobile. Doing just normal functions drains the battery crazy. Writing this review has drained 5% of the battery already. Very disappointing that they have a pretty decent phone to play some higher end games, but not the battery to back it up.

If I could have done 3.5 stars I would have, but 4 seemed too high. The phone is a good phone, but it has a few drawbacks.

Pros:
- It's one of the rare unlocked phones that works on Verizon (or Total Wireless in my case which uses Verizon towers).
- It's relatively fast. Likely not quite as fast as the latest flagship phones, but about on par with the flagships from a year or so ago (which this is still cheaper than).
- The battery life has been very good.
- It includes two cases - they're not robust enough for me to use long term (though you probably could) but certainly good enough while I wait on my main case to arrive.
- Storage space (128GB) and RAM (6GB) are both incredibly good at this pricepoint. It also will accept an SD card for additional storage if you happen to need it.
- Dual SIM cards. It may not benefit everyone, but its a nice feature.

Cons:
- The fingerprint reader. My previous phone (an LG V20) was darned near flawless on reading my fingerprint. On this phone I just turned it off since it seemed like I'd need to reposition my finger 2-3 times to get it right (and it would count each attempted scan as a failed login attempt . . .).
- Battery charging - while the battery LIFE is good, the charging speed on this phone is very, very slow. If you're letting it charge overnight it's no big deal, but you're not going to plug it in for 15-20 minutes and get any meaningful level of charge.
- I've dug around the menus a good bit, and I still haven't found any way to turn on a percentage display in the status bar for battery level. I prefer to know exact amounts rather than generalities and the only place I've seen the percentage displayed is the lock screen.
- No headphone jack. I don't personally use Bluetooth headphones (I don't care for having to recharge them). There is an adapter, but realistically I know that will eventually get misplaced.
- Android 9.0 - BLU sort of kept their word and released the Android 9.0 update within the year, however it is explicitly not compatible with the phone if you're using it on a Verizon network. Maybe they'll fix this eventually, but for now it's a little disappointing having to use 8.1 when 9.0 is out for the phone.

This is a mediocre phone. I've had the phone for about 2.5 mos. and lately the fingerprint scanner hasn't worked well. I was very disappointed that the phone does not have a built-in photo gallery app. You have to go into you phone's files to view and edit photos unless you download a gallery app, which I did, but I have to deal with lots of in-app ads on that app. Another disappointment is that the phone doesn't focus quickly when trying to take photos so many are blurry unless you have time to tap the screen to focus the camera (and that's tough when taking photos of a busy toddler!) Lastly, I wish the phone had a headphone jack built into it. An attachment piece that you plug into the charging port to attach earbuds/headphones came with the phone, which is good, but that is just one more thing to keep up with.

Positives about the phone are the price, the amount of memory, the proactive feature where a message comes up to allow you to delete junk files, a good camera IF you have time to focus it (and if you go into your settings to change it to 16 megapixels instead of the default that is 10 megapixels I think??), and a long battery life.

I was very impressed with the whole package... The phone, headphones, charger, 2 free cases upon receipt of the package. Also loved that it has 128gb of storage
Transfer of data was partially easy but not completed as yet.
I tried adding/storing fingerprints but the scanner never recognized my stored prints. When I removed the security pattern leaving no security, it wiped my stored prints. Why?? Then, I started noticing some glitches happenning. The screen would go black for no reason while I was using it.
The most serious one was when the screen went black and then weird with a colorful screen with a list of things to analyze. I was able to reboot it but pulled my cards out for fear of them getting corrupted.
I also couldn't find a way to set/unset my caller ID.
The battery goes faster than my Huawei.
Finding a decent case on Amazon for it sucks.
Returning. Sorry.

when i first got this phone it was great. until i tried to go to Verizon service.. i had to keep fiddling with settings to get it to work on the service. then when i needed to factory reset the phone because of an issue it no longer worked on CDMA service at all. i sent it back to blu twice.. and still does not work on CDMA service... after 1.5 years the battery is dead in 6 hours or light use (playing music or listening to audiobooks while working).

other than those 2 issues the phone specs are fantastic.. but since the phone itself is starting to become a major issue with the battery... 3 stars.. tho the phone is 1/2 the price now than when i bought mine.

I want to love this phone. I love that Blu still includes cases, screen protectors, and earbuds, at a great price. The fingerprint reader, facial recognition, screen quality, are all good. It's my first phone with QI, and I am loving that.

Really, my main complaint is that pictures received via MMS are highly pixelated. They send fine, but any received are significantly reduced quality - whether using the native Messages app, or Textra. It seems like a minor thing - until you realize how many pictures and screenshots are sent via MMS, and that they're very blurry.

My only other complaint would be that the Verizon compatible version is stuck running Android 8.1.0.

Have had this for a little less than a year. Battery life is awful, maybe half a day of light use, and the battery is dead. It is consistent though, been that way since I got it. Phone consistently drops my WiFi which is mesh with 4 access points in my house. WiFi will not reconnect on its own most of the time. Bluetooth disconnects regularly during calls as well. Worst is that cellular connection will disconnect, the fix is to toggle airplane mode. There are many positive aspects of this phone, but the consistent disconnects more than offset any of the other positive attributes.

Edit July 2020 - After a year of this thing, I have decided it is just not worth it. Dropped calls, dropped Bluetooth, the inability to hold a WiFi connection. It is too much BS. Phone has now been rebooting itself for the past month a couple times a day. The promised upgraded OS never materialized. I am done with BLU forever

The fingerprint reader did not work well but the pattern password works fine.

Sometimes the phone doesn't go into the sleep mode which I set, causing it to heat up and wear the battery down faster. The battery life is fair.

After a few weeks, the phone stopped ringing. I called the manufacturer who told me to reset the phone, but it still did not ring. I sent the phone to the manufacturer because Amazon's 30 day return policy had just passed.

A missed call or a voice message doesn't show up until hours later.

I've owned BLU phones before with little to no problems. However, this may be my last one.

I LOVED phone when it worked. Great features, ,the issue I had was that it wouldn't hold a service connection. Spent
hours with service reps at Verizon because it was a Verizon compatible device, they could not get it to hold service either.
I was very disappointed as the phone and it's features were awesome for a great price. I probably will try the same phone to see if a different one will connect. BTW you must use the appropriate sim card for your carrier.
