The product is fine in its result. However it's looks rather diluted and you would need to use quite a few pumps to make it lather. I was not happy when it arrived as the nozzle cap was loosened and lost about 15% of the shampoo. Seen a few similar complaints regarding this from other users and it's happened to me. So I'm hesitant on reordering because of this issue.
If you’d like your hair to feel like dry grass clippings, this is the shampoo for you.
I’m a professional man in my 50s. I have always had short hair. This is the first time in my life I’ve gotten out of the shower and had a difficult time getting a comb through my hair.
We purchased two bottles, one went in our girl’s bathroom. The following day, driving my eldest daughter to work, she brought up the shampoo in conversation. She told me she needed to buy some new shampoo when I picked her up later in the day, in order to get her hair untangled. I won’t mention the brand she purchased later today as I don’t want this review to be a commercial for another brand. I will say this, she asked me if she could throw away the bottle of Avalon. I gave her the green light.
Honestly, I’ve had better results from bar soap and I’ve used bar soap more than a few times in my life. What can I say? Guys just do that.
This is shampoo, minus the sham. That’s the clean version of what I truly want to call it.
At first I bought the smaller bottle to test it out... it's watery, but after a while I realized it's been helping my scalp so much! It does not contain sulfate and I like that it's so clearly labeled bec I found out I'm allergic too sulfate a while back! My scalp is calmer, I also feel like my hair does not get as oily anymore. I used to have to wash it every day, but now I can go a few days without! For the price, it's much better product then the paul Mitchell one. I've tried the paul Mitchell one before and it has a very strong smell, this product does not, which is another thing I like about it. I gave it 4 stars, bec it does not leave my hair moisturized or soft, it's very dry after washing it. Doesn't bother me too much bec I use a conditioner later on. Also since I bought this for scalp treatment, not softness.
First, let me share that I was very glad it arrived in a sealed bag, because the top had spun loose and it would have been a SUPER MESS if it hadn’t! Secondly, this is the second bottle of this shampoo that I have gotten, and this latest shampoo is runny and not as concentrated as the previous bottle! The first bottle had thick, concentrated shampoo in it, that took only one pump to make thick lather... THIS second bottle has thin, watery shampoo in it! I have to use 3 pumps to get some lather on my hair! Bummer! I’m not sure that I will buy this product again... I do love the fragrance and it does clean my hair, BUT it takes so much shampoo from the bottle, that I feel as if I have been cheated... like they put water in it, or something!
I have no idea why companies feel the need to "improve" on products that were already working well. I first became acquainted with this brand when I purchased the Scalp Treatment Tea Tree Shampoo in 11 oz. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to purchase it in a larger 32 oz. size - HUGE mistake. The 11 oz. boldly states that the shampoo is SULFATE FREE, but for whatever "reason" the 32 oz. is NOT - it contains sodium coco-sulfate. I soon realized that this would be an issue upon grabbing my unopened bottle and seeing the words -now- RICHER LATHER plastered on the front.
As this item is non-returnable, I am stuck with a large quantity of shampoo that I do not want to use. Buyer beware.
