Okay whoever came up with the configuration must never have installed a light kit on a fan before. The screws to mount it are 5" in from the outside edge of the fixture and hard to assemble. Thankfully I am a pretty good handy man and can make things work. Terrible.
Secondly who in the heck puts a light kit on a 52" fan that may be used in a bedroom with a single 8.5w LED bulb? I've seen more light from a AA flashlight. And in the instructions it says install two bulbs, nope only one in mine.
I bought this and have installed it in my garage. With the overly pathetic light on it I now have to come up with a way to add lighting in the area so I can see to do anything. If it was a bar area, then it is great, but if it was a larger room, absolutely worthless.
And of course I did not find this out until I had the entire assembly mounted and screwed in the tiny LED bulb.
I wouldn't buy another one of these for half the price.
It may have just been my experience, but beware of the pre-installed screws that you eventually have to unfasten to install the fan blades. The screws were so tight I had to spend extra money on an impact driver just to get them out and even then two would not budge. Some WD-40 and and a needle-nosed vice grip later and I was finally able to get them out. I would suggest unfastening the screws before you put the fan into the ceiling, this will give you better leverage at least. I was disappointed at the end because I ended up paying more for the tools to get these screws free than what I actually spent on the fan itself! Bah.
Pretty straight forward installation.... followed instructions to the tee .... had it almost completely installed when I found that one of the screws that holds a fan blade on the motor was cross threaded at the factory and could not be removed. I ended up having to disassemble the whole thing to lay the motor flat on a bench ... then was able to extract the screw with some vice grips ..... I suggest you remove all the screws that you are instructed to remove Before it's hanging from your ceiling!!!
Just to start, if everything goes perfectly the directions say the assembly/install time is 120min. The manufacturing is poorly done and the main metal/tin top assembly cover doesn't quite fit. It took forever to get it to match the screw holes and when it did it pushed against the fan assembly so the fan wouldn't spin. I had to end up sawing off the bottom so the fan could spin freely. Anyways, I really like the fan for the price but the poor manufacturing and therefore tricky assembly and at home sawing to get it to work right is why the lesser stars.
The fan itself is beautiful and sturdy. The directions are easy to follow. All of the parts came packaged neatly and the box and all parts were in tact. I spent an hour and a half installing the fan and everything was going well UNTIL it was time to remove the screws the put the fan blades on. 11 screws were pre-loosened and came out perfectly. The twelfth screw was extremely tight and stripped and can not be removed; therefore the entire fan is not able to be used. I understand mistakes happen, but this is very frustrating since I already put so much time into it!
So we realllllly liked this fan as we were putting it up. It’s easy to install and looks nice. Until we got to the glass dome part, it came dirty and cracked. Hoping this can be resolved. Tried to get the product support but it said it’s unavailable
These fans ,I bought 2, were reasonably priced. But only after 7 months the blades are drooping like crazy. I have had outdoor fans for over 30 years. Never had blades droop. These are definitely not outdoor fans.
