I bought this item to use to provide extension for an Atwood 14367-6 Trolling Motor Quick Disconnect kit I purchased a few weeks prior. From the pictures on Amazon the black connecting heads in both kits looked identical. I was surprised when I received the extension cable that the head was over an eight of an inch narrower than the trolling motor wiring head- thus a "no fit." The extension wiring appears to be good quality. The watch out I am trying to point out is that all the black quick connectors are not necessarily compatible. The trolling motor connector head is 0.79". The extension head is 0.626"
It is a thick and stiff cable, so it may limit some application. A couple of reviewers claim that the wire is aluminum, not tinned copper. Maybe they got a different cable, but mine is copper. How to I know? By checking weight per foot. The cable matches closely US specs for copper wire weight per foot. Aluminum is 3 times lighter, there is no room for mistake.
I purchased this for a repair on my HF solar panel. It was nice that they left one end with the connectors off. I have to say they have been a great improvement over the cheap leads the HF panels come with. After warranting one panel due to the faulty plug only to get another one where the cheap plug failed after a month. I decided to just repair the panel. So I ordered this cable and used it to replace the cheap HF one with this one. I must say this one enables the HF solar panel to provide it’s full potential. Plugs looks and feel durable. Very happy with the purchase.
Very low quality product. Not recommended for use with solar panels. the product uses aluminum wire instead of the required COPPER wire for solar applications. the plastic insulation comes off when exposed to heat and does not adhere to the wire.
Used this under my truck to connect work lights on my headache rack. Nice thick copper wire, sufficient insulation but most of the total thickness is the wire. Great quality. The plug slides in and out nicely but not to loose that it just comes apart. Put some dielectric grease on the connections and the water will stay out. Good connectors 👍
This is a high quality cable worth every bit of the asking price, but its not flexible like a cord, its stiff like a wire. I would not use it for something like a motorcycle heated vest but would use it for a static application where flexibility didn't matter. I only gave it a one to get attention, it isn't bad for what it is, but I expected something more like a cord.
