To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we do not use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
The Device is the best in the Digital Drawing tablet category. Smooth whiteboarding is now possible. I have 2 monitors connected to the devices. It made my life easy. The pen works just fine. True value for money. Special thanks to Gamon service team for technical support. They helped me to power on the device and setup the device. Reaching out to Gamon service team was easy. Use Amazon message to contact Gamon service team or you can also leave a message at Gamon's official website. Very customer centric organisation Gamon. Thanks for such a wonderful product and Technical support
I was in the process of writing a bad review about the screen being scratched. I noticed others complaining about the same thing, so I read the comments to those reviews. Much to my surprise, a screen protector is placed on the screen so well, that I didn't see that it was only a plastic protector. There really is a glass screen under that plastic protector. It is amazing to peal off the screen protector and find a brand new looking tablet underneath.
During the install of the software, it will give you the option of changing the location of the installation software. Do not change the location. I did and it installed in Chinese. Stick with the default location.
The tablet has problems working with my Corel Painter. I think the problem is with the mouse cursor constantly jumping around. So, when you are not using the table, make sure you shut off the table software. For some odd reason, I would select the paint brush icon and after a few strokes, it would switch to eraser or fill bucket. It could be the tablet is haunted. Sometimes, in the middle of using the pen, it just stops working. After rebooting the computer, the pen returns; I suspect the problem is in the tablet's USB connection; I have not figured out if it is a hardware or software problem. Maybe, one day, a driver update will fix the problems with the tablet.
I went a little nuts in purchasing brush packs. This tablet seems to be very picky as to which brushes I am allowed to use. I will be painting along with one brush and then the pen stops working with the next brush that I select. It is odd, that when the tablet software is open, it doesn't respond to pressure, but the painting program seems to accept pen pressure. Since the tablet software doesn't seem to recognize the pen, I suspect that the problems that I am having is as a result of faulty software. After all, how many times are you supposed to reinstall the driver? I've tried a previous version of Painter and I get the same results with the tablet letting you choose some brushes and not others.
I keep coming back to update my review and each time I take away another star. It appears that a lot of people are having problems with the pen working and I was hoping that I would be able to report a solution. I am not. Gaomon tech support want to give me access to my computer to poke are round. I'd rather buy a Watcom, than allow someone to poke around my computer. I am starting to suspect that the table doesn't cope well with systems with multiple monitors; so, if you still don't want to throw out the Gaomon tablet, try disconnecting all of the HDMI connections and use only the tablet. I also found that if I closed the canvas that I was working on and reopened it, I could go back to painting again. I think it got wise to me and that trick stopped working.
Let's face it, we saw the prices for the Watcom tablets and wanted a cheaper product; as they always say, you get what you pay for; but, $200 for this tablet is a steep lesson to learn.
I came back and added a star. I have to say that tech support really tried to help me, but we found no solutions. I did find some workarounds. I was given a couple beta drivers and found they are worse than the current driver. I think that sometimes you just find a product that doesn't work for you.
I returned again and added another star. My tablet is not perfect, but sometimes our problems are self inflicted. After wanting numerous YouTube videos, I discovered that I had clicked on "Preserve Transparency" on layer that I was working on. Immediately, I solved all of my issues with that painting. When troubleshooting a problem, don't throw all of you attacks at a single issue. Check to see if you have made a mistake before blaming everything on the tablet company.
The tablet itself is big enough for comfortable use. It needs some calibrating when you get it to fully set it up but after that it’s great. This is my first drawing tablet and for $200 it’s amazing quality. The only things I can think of that might bother people is that it has a lot of wires and doesn’t come with a stand, but this personally doesn’t bother me. The only issue I found that bothered me personally is that it didn’t say it came with a glove (or I’m just blind idk) and I ended up buying one to go with it so now I have two. Other than that it’s been about a day and no issues :)
This is my second Gaomon touch screen tablet, so it hurts my heart to say that I’m not thoroughly impressed with this one.
I went from the 21-inch tablet to the 11-inch for sake of mobility (the 21in didn’t fit into my airplane carry on), and the change is pretty drastic. My two biggest grievances with the smaller tablet are as follow:
1) Parallax. I know it see it mentioned in other reviews, and quite honestly, I see why. The cursor is often 3 or 4 millimeters to the left of my pen, which isn’t a big deal in the grand scheme of the universe, but in my small universe it feels awfully large. I’ve adjusted for the parallax by switching the resolution on my Mac and tampering with the settings on the tablet directly.
2) The cables. If you don’t mind tripping over cables every five seconds, then this won’t be a problem. I thought I was getting away from the umbilical cord that plagued the 21in tablet, but this one is exactly the same. I know Wacom tablets are way out of my budget, but the cable situation on these tablets is enough to make me want to swan dive into debt.
I’ll finish this review by saying that this tablet is not a bad choice for artists getting a foothold into screen tablets. It gets the job done and the flash sales on Amazon are a major plus. If you’re looking for a tablet with a Bluetooth feature and significantly less cables, I encourage you to look elsewhere.
I hate seeing this product suffer from customer mistakes. This is truly an amazing product and these reviews are just completely unfair.
For the past 5 years, I’ve been using a Huion h610pro but a few weeks ago- it finally gave out. I’ve been wanting an on-screen tablet for a while but I don’t have the funds nor room for an expensive $600 tablet and this seemed like the perfect buy.
When I opened the tablet box- everything seemed normal. Setting up the tablet cables was quite difficult but I got it completely in just about 10 minutes. I set up the drivers and assumed everything would be just fine.
However, when I went to use the tablet with the pen- it didn’t work. The screen was on but it wasn’t responding to the pen. I clicked on the driver's app- and saw everything was greyed out. I deleted and redownloaded the driver a good 4 times before realizing the issue. The HDMI and USB cords weren't fully in. This seems to be a common issue with people saying the drivers don’t work and I wish people would just… use some common sense and look at the Gaomon help center instead of saying it’s broken. The drivers work. I promise you.
This product does not come with a stand- so I’d suggest either using it flat on the tablet (which works best for me) or buying an appropriately sized computer stand if you need one.
It’s NOT a stand-alone product. Please DO NOT give this product a bad rating just because you don’t know how graphic tablets work. It doesn’t come with an art/ illustration tool (like Sai, Clip Studio…) and I don’t see why it would. If that’s what you want, spend the $1,000 on an iPad pro.
The tablet itself is rather compact- easy for packing away. There are 3 long cords you will have to manage with though. The HDMI and USB plugins on the tablet are on the right while my computer's plugins are on the left. If I was left-handed this wouldn’t be an issue as I could just turn the tablet around. For me though, as a right-handed person- this means that 2 very thick cords will be up against my leg for however long I plan to sit at the desk.
I do have 2 cons though.
Color correction. It took 20 minutes just to get a similar color match to my computer. The menu setting was quite difficult to figure out at first. Monitor collaboration. I don’t know if I’m just doing it wrong- but the pen is always just... Slightly off. It’s not a huge deal- I can manage- but it can be quite annoying to deal with- especially in small areas.
I love this tablet with my heart and soul. I'm a graphic designer and I've been using this tablet for over a year. I absolutely love it. In college I used to use drawing tablets with no displays and I was always so jealous of other students with their tablets with displays. I never thought I would be able to afford one. While researching, I found this tablet and couldn't believe how affordable it was compared to others. Purchasing this Gaomon was one of the best decisions I have ever made for my career. I use it constantly for design and drawing. I use it with many of the Adobe products like Photoshop and Illustrator. I love how smoothly it works with my Macbook Pro and external monitor. I love the battery free pen. I love how the pen feels on the screen. I LOVE THE SHORTCUT EXPRESS KEYS! At one point I tried out an Ipad with an Apple Pencil and went back to my Gaomon right away. It's way more comfortable to me than a glossy screen without express keys. Last year I had an issue with my pen not working and I was so stressed out because I had a time sensitive project. DORA from customer support fixed my issue so fast and efficiently THAT SAME NIGHT. I was able to handle what I needed to. She's is a life saver. I highly recommend that if anyone has an issue or concern with their tablet to contact customer support because I'm so glad I did. I haven't had any issues since then. Outstanding customer service goes a long way with me. At this time I'm actually looking to upgrade to a larger drawing tablet but I'm sticking with Gaomon because I trust them from my own experiences and from reading poor reviews on other tablets. If you're a beginner or a pro, GET THIS. You'll love it.
