A lot of YouTubers and website bloggers are very wrong about this device. My Arcade has succeeded in providing a very nostalgic authentic Nintendo Entertainment System experience. What we get here is not HD or modern beyond the handheld aesthetic of the console itself. This the closest thing to a truly portable NES that has ever been released.
The 7 inch LCD screen outputs the signal exactly how I remember playing NES cartridges as a child. Those complaining about the image quality have been extremely spoiled by modern HD displays and now believe that everything needs to be upscaled or outputted at 1080p or better resolution, or else its considered trash.
The buttons and D-pad are reminiscent of the NES and feel very good. I had no problems whatsoever enjoying all my Nintendo carts. The games fit very snug in the port, but are not as difficult to remove as some YouTubers & bloggers claim. If you are looking for a way to take your Nintendo games on the go and are not expecting these 30+ year old cartridges to output in pristine HD like modern games, this is the handheld you have been looking for!
The buttons are too stiff . Beside the fact that buttons are stiff and it has low quality screen it is zero failure to load a cartridge ,it is fast and portable and it has lots of room for improvement in future we hope
overall i'm satified with it. like big for a portable but works and plays games very well and built in controls are responsive no lag. i know some complain about the lcd screen. but i'm not sure the issue people are actually caused by the screen but more by the emulation the device is using too run the carts. mostof these clones dump the rom from the cartridge and run theu an emulatore and displayed. that part and over all emulation is really goodon the device. but the images particulary the colors and and edges with blurryness look s more like the emulator is using a filter too softenthe eges of the pixel and bunp of the constrast instead out out putting the original sprites. i noticed this mainly as it looks indentically too one of theoptional filter you can add too agame wheni using another clone console namely the retron. which made think this could be it instead og the screen which from different viewing angle doesn't look too bad. over all its decent handheld too paly a quick nes game onthe go or even take too flee markets and such to test out games you looking to buy for your collection. as long as you dont expect to be indental too playing on the original hardware it wont disapoint
This is a fantastic item. Feels like an ode to the 80's! I am a hardcore retro-gamer, with more than 25 years of experience in all consoles prior to 2005. I am not purist and I do not demand precise and strict standards...so, to me, this works as expected and does it perfectly acceptable. Controls feel very good. Screen has a very good size. I wish they had "respected" the retro feeling by allowing scan lines or precise pixels in the screen, but output has this HDMI, "polished" look. Not that it looks bad, but it kind of misses the retro feeling. I wish they had added different output modes in screen. NES Cartridges I have tried worked at very first try - of course, my carts were cleaned. Yes, inserting and pulling NES carts out need a little force, but, to me it feels acceptable. I haven't tested any famicom, but, yes, it definitely looks that it might be a hassle to pop the cart out. Kids or young teens might need adult help. Games run smoothly - no problems so far. (Tried a few RPG's for now) Overall, I think the console works fine. It is ambitious. I love the "cartridge cleaning kit" compartment - so 80's. I think it's fine for the price. It fits my big hands perfectly - perhaps it might be too big for some people. I think this console is oriented to be able to play anywhere at home and easy transportation to another location. I don't think it's very comfortable to carry out as a "portable" console - like a game boy or any other sony portable console. If you're a "relaxed" NES fan, and you like to play the games, anywhere, I think you will be satisfied with this one.
The best thing to enjoy a quick game without the need of disorganizing your old gaming systems just to enjoy 10 minutes of retro gaming. It'll stay with an adequate charge for days if played once or twice a week. You can play it with a full screen or standard ratio. Sit in on a table while not playing. You really can not go wrong with this thing. It feels good in your hands. One minor complaint would be that I wish it had contrast so to tell where the buttons are in low light and I wish you could dim the screen for night time playing. And, I wish I could play my old SEGA cartridges rather than having a Famicom option on this thing. Otherwise, it is hiiiiiiiighly recommended.
