I ordered this thinking I would just get the case and game, which was fine by me since it’s what I ordered, but to my surprise I got the day one edition all wrapped up neatly with an art book. It’s always nice to get extra free goodies, thank you so much! Will definitely keep buying from this seller again!
If you enjoy visual novels and/or psychological horror, then more than likely you’ll love Raging Loop. The characters are interesting and the story is really fascinating, so much I found myself absorbed while playing it.
If you haven’t familiarized yourself with the party game Werewolf/Mafia, check it out because that’s Raging Loop’s skeleton for the game (with some changes). However, the juicy, meaty part of the game is its story. You’re an outsider that somehow got roped into playing a real-life version of Werewolf in a remote village, trying to figure out the wolves before you die or lose the game. Of course, there’s a great deal more going on behind the scenes and each character then what I’m letting on. I, unfortunately, have to be incredibly vague with this review because I don’t want to spoil the game for anyone (I’ve already beaten the game).
I can say for certain the New Game+/post content is actually very insightful to the game’s story+characters and adds a fresh air to a second run. Also, the music is on point with its creepiness.
Raging Loop is a title that was clearly made on a limited budget, but one that is a labor of love that is very well executed. The art isn't horrible, but definitely not great. The soundtrack is very good but doesn't have many tracks. It overcomes these nitpicks to get five stars from me because the story and characters are genuinely awesome and after playing it for 20-25 hours and getting the true ending, unlike a lot of VNs, there is a very cool post-game with a surprising amount of content. Highly recommended.
I hadn't heard much about this Switch release, even though I play plenty of visual novels. This story is excellent, and you get a ton of story and twists for your money. Also, mine came with the artbook, which is really cool given I only paid $20. Really worthwhile, esp if you are trapped inside by a worldwide pandemic....
